Katherine Kelly Lang has a guest role in Neighbours

Katherine Kelly Lang has filmed a guest role in Neighbours.

The actress, known for her role as Brooke Logan​ in The Bold and the Beautiful, announced the news live on TV in Australia today (November 26).

Channel Eleven later followed the news up with a tweet, saying: "We're delighted to announce that soap icon Katherine Kelly Lang will film a guest role on @neighbours in 2016!"

Details surrounding Lang's guest stint are currently under wraps, but it is thought that she will be appearing as herself.

Katherine Kelly Lang from the The Bold and The Beautiful makes a guest appearance on Neighbours, lending her glamour to the troubled life of Xanthe.
Neighbours is about to get a splash of star power as The Bold and the Beautiful’s Katherine Kelly Lang checks in to Erinsborough’s premier hotel, Lassiters. Fan encounters are nothing new for the soap queen. Katherine is often mobbed by passionate fans who love watching her play blond temptress Brooke Logan.
Just like in real life, Katherine’s Neighbours appearance will involve the actress being hounded by massive Bold fan, Xanthe (Lilly Van der Meer). Spotting the star arriving at Lassiters is a bright moment in what has been a rocky start for Xanthe’s new life in Ramsay Street.
The troubeled teen first came to town looking for her dad after her mum ran off, only to find out her dad was in jail and because she’s 15 years old Xanthe was forced to move in with her grandmother, Sheila (Colette Mann) and brother, Kyle (Chris Milligan) or go into foster care.
Xanthe felt unwanted, especially by Kyle who was put off by Xanthe’s snobbish facade. Devastated, the Gold Coast beauty did a runner and took up residence in a display home before holding a rowdy party and charging entry in the hopes of making cash to leave town. She was caught by police and taken home. Her bad behaviour didn’t stop there though and she went on to steal and sell a school exam and hold another wild party.
Xanthe’s antics were all too much for Sheila who collapsesd from a panic attack. Sheila continued to fake feeling unwell to keep Xanthe from leaving again but the ruse backfired and left Xanthe feeling betrayed. So when Sheila had a heart attack for real, Xanthe refused to help thinking it was another trick. Angry at his sister’s actions, Kyle called the Department of Human Services while Sheila was in hospital and Xanthe was taken into care until Sheila could convince the DHS that Xanthe was wanted and she moved back into the Canning house.
Now Xanthe’s biggest hurdle is school. She is falling behind and feeling embarrassed about it, especially when Sheila demands Susan (Jackie Woodburne) find Xanthe a tutor. So, feeling hurt, Xanthe decides to wag school and wait around Lassiters hotel in case Katherine appears.
As a keen viewer Xanthe loves watching Katherine’s character Brooke who has a history of stirring up trouble particularly with the Forrester men, moving from designer Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) to his father Eric (John McCook) and back again, fighting for their affection against the wives of both, time and time again. She’s since moved on from Ridge and set her sights on media mogul Bill Spencer (Don Diamont). Bill had gone back to his wife, who is Broke’s sister Katie (Heather Tom) but Brooke can’t resist Bill’s allure and is falling back into old habits.
Xanthe waits patiently to catch another glimpse of the star and she is thrilled when Katherine comes out of the hotel. Eager to speak with Katherine, Xanthe runs up and asks for an autograph.
Unfortunately Sheila sees Xanthe with Katherine and thinks Xanthe is annoying her with questions about how to get famous so she stomps right over to Lassiters to teach her granddaughter some manners.
Katherine leaps to Xanthe’s defence insisting that Xanthe asked her nothing of the sort. Instead she was reminiscing about watching The Bold and The Beautiful with her mum. Sheila is relieved and even happier to hear Katherine’s words of wisdom for Xanthe, which are: be nice to your gran and don’t give up on your mum. Xanthe is left feeling even more in awe of the Bold star than ever.
