Mo heads into work, positively upbeat considering that she will no longer be surrogate mum to William as she is due to give him back to his father today.
However, when Brett faces a sudden medical setback and his mother-in-law Viv becomes obstructive, Mo feels she cannot possibly part with her beloved William and decides to abscond with him.

Meanwhile, it's a big day for Sacha as he has to face the board for his much-wanted consultant's position. He's pulled up short by the arrival of Patsy Brassvine, who's on the interview panel and gets heavily involved in Sacha's patient's medical case.
Elsewhere, Serena is aggrieved when she receives a wedding invite from her undesirable ex-husband and his much younger, vacuous fiancée. Troubled by whether to accept or not, her attention is spent with know-it-it-all patient and fellow doctor Arthur Digby, who is admitted with a toy soldier stuck in his arm.
