Kerry does have diabetes, she had a few hypos when she first appeared on the scene, but it was then forgotten (or cured)!!

Yes, you may be right about Sandy. Yesterday's episode showed Sandy staying in the toilet for a long time (30 mins+). Sandy tried to explain this by saying that he is 82 years old but Edna implied to Ashley in the pub that Paddy had recently been wetting the bed(?), which is why she didn't want him drinking more than 2 pints of beer before bedtime and that she "couldn't cope anymore". Symptoms of prostate problems do include difficulty passing urine and frequent toilet visits, especially at night-time.

Early prostate cancer usually has no clear symptoms. Sometimes, however, prostate cancer does cause symptoms, often similar to those of diseases such as benign prostatic hyperplasia. These include frequent urination, nocturia (increased urination at night), difficulty starting and maintaining a steady stream of urine, hematuria (blood in the urine), and dysuria (painful urination). A study based on the 1998 Patient Care Evaluation in the US found that about a third of patients diagnosed with prostate cancer had one or more such symptoms, while two thirds had no symptoms.

Whatever Sandy's problem is, he seems to be miserable enough about his life to be going to tell Ashley (tonight, Wednesday Oct 21st) that he doesn't want to live anymore. This 'loss-of-the-will-to-live' seems to be very common when people lose their good health and once-active lives as they age.

Sandy may ask Ashley or Edna to help him die if it is terminal cancer
