Sounds to me like they are doing another farfetched scenario to release a murderer from prison. Sigh. Had it not mentioned Robert, then I'd have thought that Rob Donovan was terminally ill.

Do none of the soaps ever think before writing a storyline about a leading character going to prison or dying. It seems not. They think the gullible viewers will accept these ressurection storylines and miscarriages of justice.

I'm pretty sure it's been said in earlier spoilers that Rob is back for a guest stint and will be scheming from his prison cell. I assume we'll be seeing scenes set in prison as we did with Peter and Jim earlier in the year.

Coronation Street bad boy David Platt will battle with his guilt over Callum Logan's death in some tense Christmas scenes.

Jack P Shepherd, who plays David, has been spotted filming on location this week for a storyline which will air over the festive period.

David is currently keeping quiet over Callum's fate after the villain was murdered by his wife Kylie in the ITV soap's explosive live episode last month.

The schemer has coped best with the grisly cover-up so far, but he's given food for thought this Christmas when he crosses paths with Callum's mum Marion once again.

    Marion gets upset

When Marion's purse is stolen at the Christmas market in Manchester, David is also at the scene and does the right thing by coming to her aid.

The unlikely duo put their differences aside by sitting down for a coffee together, but with Marion clearly in a bad way following her son's disappearance, will David be pushed into a confession?

Will David's guilt become too much to handle?

Callum's body has been concealed underneath the garage at the Platt house after oblivious builders Jason Grimshaw and Gary Windass poured concrete over it last month.

David has tried his best to hold his family together ever since, but it's proving ever more difficult as his sister Sarah can't cope with the trauma of what happened.

Are we going to have two more months (at least) of Sarah's trauma? Dear oh dear!

Coronation Street Christmas spoilers: Proposals, surprises and scandal rock Weatherfield this festive season
Coronation Street have revealed fresh details on what fans can expect over the festive season in Weatherfield – and as well as warmth, romance and hope, there is scandal, blackmail and tension too. But who will get their happy ending and who will start 2016 in misery?
The Connors will be thrown to the forefront of the action as the family looks set to be blown apart by the reappearance of scheming Rob Donovan. Rob has vengeance in mind – and as Tracy becomes a pawn in his sinister plot, many players in this game will find themselves losers.
It’s a bittersweet festive season for Fiz and Tyrone as Hope’s illness and their mounting debts threaten to overshadow Ty’s Lapland dreams while the Platts face a tension filled day too as Callum’s death haunts their Yuletide.
Elsewhere there are proposals, stolen kisses and Christmas heartbreak for other residents. Here are some further details on what’s coming up:
    Rob ruins EVERYTHING
When Rob gets in touch with both Tracy and Johnny, little do they know how much he is set to turn their lives upside down. Johnny arrives to be told by a smug Rob that he knows his big family secret – and warns him that he will expose it if he isn’t paid £10,000. As Johnny mulls over his dilemma and contemplates whether he is going to pay up or not, Rob then reels in Tracy, assuring her that he has always loved her and wants them to be together again when he gets out. A torn Tracy finds herself duped by Rob’s lies and puts everything she has with Robert at risk – including a Christmas Day proposal she is getting. But as Rob unleashes the next phase of his revenge plot, who will be left destroyed as secrets come out and the repercussions rock the Connors and the Barlows?
    Platt’s that?
In the run up to Christmas, the tension in the Platt household certainly isn’t subsiding. Sarah is hiding a pregnancy secret and David’s path crosses with Callum’s mum Marion again – so the stage could well be set for another miserable festive season for the clan. But whispers suggest that the tide could turn as Kylie and David rediscover their love and dedication for each other. Could they all be about to finally move on from the mess? And, if so, how long can it last?
Will there be Hope this Christmas?
With Hope’s cruel illness and Tyrone’s mounting debts, Fiz and Tyrone’s family Christmas doesn’t seem destined for much joy. But Tyrone remains determined to bring Lapland to the Street to give Hope her best day ever – and when the community spirit of Coronation Street comes to the fore, things are finally looking up. And then Tyrone gets down on one knee in the snow – but what will Fiz say?
    What else?
Tim and Sally are determined to spend their first Christmas as man and wife alone, but things conspire against them, leaving them with a houseful of guests. And it’s Anna and Kevin who are caught under the mistletoe – but how far will things go?
The Underworld Christmas party seems like the perfect place for Aidan to make his moves on Eva – but is she interested or will Aidan not get his festive wish this year?
Caz surprises Kate with a visit but as Sally continues to try and match-make Sophie and Kate, is there heartbreak on the horizon?
Mary is left out in the cold as Brendan enjoys a Christmas with his wife and family.
Will Audrey finally declare her feelings for Ken before it’s too late?
    MOST IMPORTANTLY
What song will Rita sing in the Rovers this year?
    Stay tuned…
