Rishi loses the plot!
Stressed Rishi decides enough is enough, so he fires troubled Jai and calls Nikhil for help, says Bhasker Patel...
Since he started snorting cocaine on a regular basis, Jai Sharma has been strutting around that factory like Tony Soprano... and his dad, Rishi, has had enough. Realising his son is on a fast track to ruining the family business, Rishi sacks him and takes over. He also puts in a call to his more strait-laced son, Nikhil, who, with daughter Molly, is only too happy to fly in from Canada to help. 'Jai's bringing shame upon the family and killing himself in the process,' says actor Bhasker Patel. 'Rishi decides it's time to take control, and save his son and the business. This is the company he's worked hard for. He doesn't want to see it ruined.' What will Jai have to say about that?
>What pushes Rishi to oust Jai from the family business?
His drug taking is out of control and he's involved Kirin, which is unacceptable. Jai's promised different contracts and the factory is under huge pressure to fulfill the orders. Somebody has to take charge.
>How does he feel about Priya wanting to run things at the factory?
He isn't happy. She's skipping meals and Rishi worries the pressure of running the place may cause her anorexia to return.
>Is he pleased to see Nikhil and Molly?
Yes, he's very happy. He hasn't seen his grand-daughter, Molly, for a long time. Brenda's going to be happy too. He doesn't know if Nikhil will stay for very long as he runs a successful hotel chain, but Rishi would love him to stick around.
>Is Rishi worried about Jai?
Extremely. He hasn't had a good time recently, what with his woes with Rachael, Charity and Megan, plus his drug taking.
>Is he able to sack Jai without any serious repercussions?
Rishi finds a legal loophole, which gives him the ability to sack anyone he likes.
>Would he actually disown Jai?
No, but he wants to do what's best for Jai and, sometimes, you have to disown someone to make them realise they have to sort themselves out. Rishi's always stepped in to sort out Jai's mess. He even lied and said he was Archie's dad to spare him. For that reason, he blames himself for the mess Jai's in and he realises he has to be cruel to be kind. The one thing viewers always say to me is, 'Why do you let Jai get away with it?'.
>How do you think Rishi will react when he discovers Megan's pregnant?
He'll see it as fantastic news. He has a real soft spot for Megan.
>What's in store for Rishi?
He's a kind of Dales UN ambassador at the moment. He's managing everyone through difficulties, but I'd like to see him find a love interest, perhaps in the form of an old flame he met before Georgia...

I hate how he is written as a stupid idiot for comedic value but it is not funny most of the time
rishi is an idiot for manpreet, why cover for her with jai
so even though i thought jai had control of the factory accounts rishi used the business money to pay all manpreet's debt?
