Over on EastEnders, Jean Slater's return will add to the intrigue surrounding her daughter Stacey Branning's mysterious key.

Jean gets into a panic over Stacey's key

A sceptical Stacey doesn't react well to the revelation and questions Jean about whether she has been taking her medication, which upsets her mum and causes her to run off.

When Stacey realises that she was unfair with Jean, she apologises and they go off shopping together so that Stacey and Lily can both get new dresses fro the wedding.

Once they're back at home, however, Jean suddenly panics when she spots the key around Stacey's neck. When Jean leaves shortly afterwards, a baffled Stacey admits to Martin that she is more determined than ever to find out what the key opens...

Stacey reacts badly when Jean reveals that she is getting married to Ollie tomorrow, questioning her mum about whether she has been taking her medication. Unhappy with this, Jean rushes off and confides in Shirley, who encourages her to try again with Stacey. Soon afterwards, Jean and Shirley interrupt just as Stacey is talking to Martin about her own illness.

Stacey is now feeling guilty for the earlier row and apologises to Jean. They end up going shopping so that Stacey and Lily can get new dresses for the wedding. Once they're back at home, Jean panics when she spots the key around Stacey's neck. When Jean suddenly leaves, Stacey admits to Martin that she is more determined than ever to find out what the key opens.

Meanwhile, Tamwar is concerned about Nancy's seizures and encourages her to be honest with him. When she opens up about how stressed she is, Tamwar invites her to stay at the Masood house for a while. Nancy shares this news with Lee, but doesn't get the reaction she was expecting when her brother storms off. Nancy is curious over his strange behaviour and suspects that Lee is hiding something.

Elsewhere, as Carol sets to work on helping Max get his life on track, she discovers that he is behind on his mortgage payments. With Max clearly struggling, Carol suggests that he should move in with her and rent out his house - but Sonia isn't happy about not being included in the decision. Later, Carol and Max reminisce over their teenage years and decide to take a risk by going out for a ride on their dad's old motorbike.

Jean's wedding day has arrived. Martin encourages Stacey not to take the key to the ceremony after Jean's reaction yesterday, but she ignores his suggestion and brings it along to Jean's house. While there, Stacey takes the opportunity to look for anything that it might open. However, when Jean brings up the key, Stacey promises not to talk about it anymore and they make amends. Jean then mentions something in relation to Brian but before Stacey can ask any questions about it, they are interrupted by Shirley and leave for the ceremony.

Once the wedding is over, Martin grows increasingly concerned over Stacey's intentions when it comes to the key. Stacey offers to return to Jean's house early to help prepare the food, but Martin knows she has an ulterior motive. When Stacey continues to search the house for what the key opens, Martin complains that she isn't confiding in him. She finally does so by explaining why the key is so important. Stacey starts to search again but is caught in the act when Jean returns home, sparking another huge argument between mother and daughter. Will Stacey finally learn the truth?

Lily's dance recital is taking place today and Stacey is determined to make her the perfect dress for the occasion after spotting Lexi's outfit. Martin is keen to talk to Stacey about yesterday's events, but she angrily insists that she is fine and asks him to leave. Frustrated after the conversation, Stacey tears Lily's dress in two - meaning that she has to pull together another one at the very last minute.

Later, the recital goes wrong when Lily gets embarrassed and refuses to dance. Stacey reacts badly following snide comments from the Mitchells and storms out. Having embarrassed her daughter, Stacey finally realises that she should make an appointment with the doctor. She also opens up to Martin and reveals that she doesn't want Lily to go through what she did as a child.

Everyone feels uncomfortable as Stacey makes a scene and embarrasses Lily.

Meanwhile, Nancy's suspicions grow when Lee snaps at her again. Later, Lee's boss arrives at The Vic and reveals that he didn't turn up for work. The visitor plays this down to Nancy and Linda, but later speaks to Lee in private and encourages him to talk about his problems by seeking help from a medical officer. When Nancy later finds Lee crying at The Vic, he reveals that he has been told to seek help from a doctor.

Elsewhere, Jane is still keen to bring the Beale family back together. She invites a reluctant Cindy to dinner, but will it go according to plan?

Also today, Kim infuriates Denise by suggesting that she should become Pearl's nanny!

Nancy tries to find out why Lee was so upset yesterday, but he plays it down. Lee does agree to make a doctor's appointment, but he forces Nancy to keep this a secret from their parents. After some encouragement from Tamwar, Nancy agrees to keep it quiet.

Meanwhile, Kim still isn't coping with looking after Pearl alone. After a mishap sees her run over one of Les's wreaths, she breaks down in Pam's arms. Vincent arrives Pam, Les and Paul over for dinner with his family to make amends for the incident. However, with Paul still suspicious of Les's relationship with Claudette, will it go to plan?

The previewer in next week's Radio Times says, "Just what in God's name does Stacey's key open?......If it doesn't open a locked box containing a birth certificate that reveals Sean to be Kat's son, then I'm going to be very disappointed..."

    That's pretty inspired.

They've built up Stacey's key mystery to such a height that it's going to be almost impossible for the solution not to be anti-climactic.

It's possible, but I don't think Sean will be her son. I don't think Rob Kazinsky wants to come back for more than a guest return for a start (something about not wanting to pay tax in the UK) and it would seem pointless to make him the son if Kat, Sean, Stacey and Jean weren't going to be all together for the fallout. We've heard nothing about Stacey or any of the others appearing in the spin off show.

The spoiler photos suggest to me that Jean knows what the key reveals and doesn't want Stacey to find out. Jean has grown quite close to Kat over the past few years and I don't think she'd have been able to keep it from Kat if she knew that Sean was really Kat's son. If he is, presumably it's something that Brian and Viv cooked up and as both are dead, that should've made it easier for her to tell the truth before now.

Sean is also older than Zoe. The date of birth is the first thing that would be changed if they were going to pass Kat's son off as theirs, but surely they'd have made him younger in that case? Twins are smaller than singletons on average. However, it was Brian's mother that Kat stayed with when she was pregnant so I don't think we can completely rule it out.

I am expecting the key to reveal either something that Brian did in the past which triggered Jean's bipolar (accidentally killing someone perhaps) or to pave the way to reveal Sean's part in Brian's death.
