Neighbours bosses are adding a new gay character to the regular cast following the departure of Chris Pappas.

Aaron Brennan, played by actor and model Matt Wilson, joins Ramsay Street later this month and more details have been revealed about his arrival today (June 1).

Aaron is a gay male stripper, who will be making a memorable entrance when he turns up as the entertainment when Sheila Canning hosts a racy bingo night at The Waterhole.

As Aaron is single and looking for new love, his younger brother Tyler will attempt to set him up with established regular Nate Kinski (Meyne Wyatt) - but whether the pair have enough in common to become an item remains to be seen.

Wilson's casting as Aaron was first announced last month. His arrival will allow the show's producers to further explore the Brennan family, with Aaron's siblings Tyler and Mark already settled in Erinsborough.

26-year-old Wilson originally qualified as a carpenter, but since downing tools in 2011, he has found success as a sought-after model and television actor.

Neighbours waved goodbye to its first ever regular gay character earlier this year when Chris (James Mason) left Erinsborough to move to New York. The popular mechanic had been dating Nate in the months building up to his exit.

Neighbours fans' excitement for the on-screen arrival of Aaron Brennan might be cranked up a notch after seeing these new pictures of the three Brennan brothers.

Sydney-born actor and model Matt Wilson has been cast as Aaron, the middle brother of established regulars Mark (Scott McGregor) and Tyler (Travis Burns).
