The little we know is what she has told
Roy . We dont know what she has told
neighbours etc or when other allotment
    holders last saw him.

She may not have killed him -he might
have died naturally ( and be still in
the house/garden) and she has panicked
    over money.
Or she may have mercy - killed
him (because he asked and was in severe pain)
and frightened to admit because of police
    etc action.

Corrie issued publicity over "dark secret"!!!
It may just be usual over-hyping in search
of ratings or may not have fully decided
on develpment of story .A lot of soap stories
    dont bear close examination.

People do tell lies thst dont mske sense
when they are in a panic and there may
grief here also - which can cause irrational
    behaviour.

After the speculation and the full story
is known - it may seem far-fetched or
    a damp squip!!
At least she has Roy on her side-we've
    been told!

Exclamation Roy and Cathy to visit Blackpool

Roy Cropper is heading back to Blackpool for more emotional scenes.

The popular café owner will visit the seaside resort with his new friend and possible love interest Cathy Matthews in an upcoming episode

David Neilson and Melanie Hill, who play Roy and Cathy, were spotted filming the scenes on location today (July 14).

The pair's trip will initially go well, but Cathy inadvertently says the wrong thing when she suggests going for a paddle in the sea.

Memories of Roy's late wife Hayley flood back to him as a result, leading to him getting emotional and running off.

Roy visited Blackpool with Hayley in October 2013, enjoying a bittersweet holiday with her after she had been diagnosed with terminal cancer.

He paid another visit last year when he considered scattering Hayley's ashes in the town.

Earlier this month, Coronation Street's producer Stuart Blackburn confirmed that Roy and Cathy will continue to grow closer following his recent discovery of her hoarding secret.

Blackburn said: "Roy and Cathy have been muddling along at the allotment but that is a friendship that is going to really develop and blossom when Roy discovers Cathy's secret.

"She has been very troubled since the death of her husband, she has problems with her house and so she ends up moving in with Roy. But don't worry, it is just as friends."

Love many, trust few, always paddle your own canoe

Coronation Street star Melanie Hill has opened up about her addiction to painkillers.

The actress, who plays Cathy Matthews on the ITV soap, revealed that she struggled to stop taking co-codamol after being prescribed the medication following a hip replacement operation.

"I needed a stick, but I had to get rid of it when I was shooting scenes," Hill told Woman magazine.

"I carried on for two years because I didn't want to take time out."

She continued: "I was on the maximum dose of co-codamol painkillers, and after two years it was hard getting off them.

"It took me three months to get completely weaned off them."

Hill joined the soap in April as Cathy, and her character befriended Roy Cropper following the death of his wife Hayley.

I cannot remember back much about the time Roy had on the beach with Hayley but get the impression Cathy was acting very much like Hayley did.

She was. The last straw was insisting that Roy paddle - just like Hayley did. I really felt for poor Roy in those scenes. I like Cathy though, and I hope their friendship will continue even if Roy's not ready to take it further.

Coronation Street's Roy Cropper saves partner Cathy Matthews' life as her flat bursts into flames
Cathy Matthews rescued Roy Cropper from a dark place after the death of his beloved wife Hayley in a truly gripping storyline that rocked Coronation Street earlier in the year.
And the cafe-owner's time to repay the favour has come as he's forced to play her hero in dramatic scenes which will air later in the year.
Timid Roy - played by David Neilson - turns strapping knight in shining armour as he saves Cathy (Melanie Hill) from a fire which takes over her entire flat.
He is driving to visit her with her sister - Nessa warner played by Sadie Shimmin - when they discover the building ablaze.
Their faces drop when the flames come into view and Roy breaks down in tears as he becomes concerned about Cathy's whereabouts.
He doesn't allow his emotions to get the better of him and puts on a brave face before entering the burning building.
Roy manages to rescue Cathy just in time and they emerge from the flat in a tight embrace.
She is visibly and understandably emotional and leans on her partner for support.
He willingly obliges and does his best to comfort her while they await the arrival of the emergency services, watching on as the flames destroy her home.
An ambulance and fire engine soon arrive on the scene and Cathy is escorted to safety by a paramedic.
She is given a check-up in the back of the ambulance during which she musters up the courage to announce she's to blame for the blaze.
Talking to the medical staff and her partner she explains she fell asleep on the sofa while something was cooking, causing the fire to break out.
