Dot Branning will be left in an impossible position on EastEnders later this month when her son Nick pressures her for drugs.

Viewers recently saw Nick's family turn their backs on him after discovering that he was responsible for the car accident on New Year's Day.

Despite this, Dot (June Brown) has struggled to apply the same treatment to her son, and she becomes increasingly worried when she finds him unwell as he continues hiding in the ruins of Number 23.

When Dot later returns from work and sees Nick, she realises that he is withdrawing from drugs and confronts him. A desperate Nick pleads with her to help him get more, but Dot is horrified by the suggestion.

As Dot struggles with the tough position that Nick has put her in, Fatboy Chubb (Ricky Norwood) starts to grow suspicious of her behaviour.

Later, when he finds a piece of paper from Nick, Fatboy follows Dot and sees her leaving some dodgy flats.

It doesn't take long for the truth to dawn on Fatboy as he realises that she is covering for Nick, but how far has Dot gone to help her son?

I don't remember Nick being on drugs while back after his death and staying with Dot

I think Fatboy will discover Nick and Nick will try and kill him maybe then that is why Dot kills him

Ronnie Mitchell's loved ones will receive some upsetting news regarding her condition in EastEnders next week.

Roxy (Rita Simons) and Charlie (Declan Bennett) have been desperately waiting on Ronnie's health to improve as she remains in a coma following the car accident on New Year's Day.

When Roxy visits Ronnie in hospital, she is given fresh hope when her sister's pulse rate increases. However, Roxy breaks down later on as she reveals to Charlie that the doctor said it doesn't mean anything.

Roxy goes on to explain to Charlie that the medics are going to try to wake Ronnie up again next week but if she doesn't respond this time, there is nothing more they can do.

Later, Roxy and Charlie arrange to see Ronnie's doctor where they learn that she could potentially suffer brain damage even if she does wake up.

Back home, a furious Roxy confronts Charlie and asks him why he didn't push for answers and better treatment whilst talking to the doctor. How will Charlie react when Roxy asks him if he wants Ronnie to die?

After a frustrating day, Lauren heads to The Vic where Ian's stag do is well under way, but when Ian innocently offers her an alcoholic drink, she runs out and heads to Max's office.

When she fails to unlock Emma's phone once again, an overwhelmed Lauren spots a bottle of whiskey on the side and it is clear that she is tempted to drink.

As Lauren's world begins to spiral out of control, Max and Abi quickly grow suspicious of her behaviour and after a confrontation with Lauren, Max asks Stacey to talk to her.

However, Max grows even more concerned when he hears that Lauren almost fainted and finds her at Stacey's where he furiously demands answers.

Max's sudden arrival interrupts Lauren as she prepares to confide in Stacey about what she knows. As Max drags Lauren away, she leaves Stacey with a used pregnancy test...

EastEnders hardman Phil Mitchell will go missing next week after he is finally released from prison.

Viewers know that Phil (Steve McFadden) was wrongly arrested earlier this year for causing the car accident that killed Emma Summerhayes and left his cousin Ronnie in a coma.

Whilst Phil was stuck in prison, Max (Jake Wood) deviously tricked Ben into signing over The Arches, leaving both Phil and Sharon (Letitia Dean) determined to get revenge.

As the day of Phil's bail hearing finally arrives, an optimistic Sharon warns Max that Phil will be heading back to the Square soon.

However, Sharon grows worried when Phil purposefully ensures she mistimes the hearing, enabling him to go missing upon his release. Where has Phil gone? And will Sharon be able to find him?

EastEnders airs these scenes on Monday, February 9 at 8pm on BBC One.
