Richard Blackwood has described his EastEnders character as being "connected to everybody".
Speaking about his upcoming stint in Albert Square to A.Dot on BBC Radio 1Xtra, the actor, comedian and musician said he "didn't see [the role] coming."
Asked to describe his villainous character, Blackwood said: "I'm your best friend and your worst enemy.
"He has just got layers, villain is just too basic of a word. He's connected to enough people."
He continued: "I'm connected to everybody."
The actor was also asked if he knew who killed Lucy Beale, a mystery which will be revealed during the EastEnders 30th anniversary celebrations.
Blackwood said: "This is the thing - I don't know, and I'm being really honest... I was there and I rehearsed the scene and then they said, 'Everybody's got to clear the lot now'."
The actor will make his debut in the soap during a live scene on Tuesday, February 17.
"I am so looking forward to it... I come from a live background," he said.
