Coronation Street bosses have confirmed that former Hollyoaks star James Redmond is joining the show for a short guest stint.
The actor will appear on screen for three weeks in the role of newcomer Hamish, who takes a shine to Michelle Connor in an upcoming storyline.

Michelle (Kym Marsh) meets Hamish when he asks her to organise an event for him and there is an instant chemistry between the pair.
Their romantic spark comes after Michelle's relationship with Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) has hit the rocks due to his recent strange behaviour.
Future episodes will see Steve leave Michelle devastated by pushing her away and failing to confide in her about what is troubling him.
Not realising the reality of Steve's situation, Michelle finds herself estranged from him. When she is later tempted by Hamish's interest, she decides to start seeing the new arrival.
The plot twist will form part of Steve's ongoing depression storyline, which will intensify over the next few weeks before coming to a head with the recently-announced Streetcars mini-bus crash stunt in the New Year.
Redmond is best known for his roles as Rory 'Finn' Finnigan in Hollyoaks and Abs Denham in Casualty.
More recently, he had a short guest stint in Emmerdale, playing Ruby Haswell's ex-boyfriend Seb.
