Shane's arrival looks set to shake up life in the village, as he seems determined to ruin the progress that Cameron is making with his teenage daughter Peri Lomax and old flame Leela.
The storyline begins on screen in late November, when Cameron (Cameron Moore) gets his hands on a bag of cash from dodgy Shane.
As the Lomax house has been put up for sale, Cameron looks forward to the future as he promises to put the money towards a new place. However, fireworks ensue when Shane arrives as a potential buyer for the family's current home.
Shane is eager to intimidate Cameron and once they are alone, he threatens him to get his money back. In the end, Cameron is forced to hand back £1,000 but when Shane refuses to accept that, it seems that trouble between the two men is about to flare up.
