Neighbours is gearing up to see Gary Canning come clean about not wanting a baby with Amy Williams.

In scenes airing next week, Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis) and Sheila Canning (Colette Mann) hatch a new plan to sabotage Amy (Zoe Cramond) and Gary's relationship – after their previous schemes don't work out.

Ignoring her increasingly guilty conscience, Sheila asks the couple to look after Nell and Hugo, hoping that the babysitting session will expose Gary (Damien Richardson) as anything but father material.

Her hopes are realised when Gary slips up on more than one occasion, and a frustrated Amy is forced to take over.

Sheila's scheming then goes even further when she pops in to check on how the pair are doing, and uses a game of hide and seek to ensure Amy overhears Gary admitting that he doesn't really want to have a baby.

When he realises that Amy has heard his confession, Gary tries to backtrack, explaining that he's happy to compromise on the issue if it means Amy would be happy. While she's grateful that Gary's being honest, Amy maintains that she doesn't want to have a child with someone who isn't all-in on the idea.

Uncertain as to what Amy's viewpoint means for their relationship, Gary worries he's lost her for good but it turns out to be Kyle (Chris Milligan) who unexpectedly helps Amy realise that she's content in the life she's built with Gary and she comes around to the idea of enjoying their future together without having another child.

Seeing how relieved Gary is at Amy's realisation, Sheila tells Paul that they should ease off on their attempts to break them up. Paul, on the other hand, has other ideas, and remains convinced that Amy and Gary's relationship isn't as solid as it looks.

Neighbours airs these scenes on the week commencing July 8 at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5 (UK) and 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).
