Michael is at least personable& plausible.

anyone can be duped- some of the portrayals
have been so.poor they have been patronising
to the dupee and to general intelligence.

They will indeed. I've seen lots of comments online in favour of him sticking around the cobbles, so hopefully the writers will find a plausible way to keep him. If they can keep Tracey around they can keep Gavin, but he does need to be redeemed.
