    Monday

Ken tries to prepare Peter for his plea hearing, but a depressed Peter reckons he might as well plead guilty. Back at home Ken is frustrated, while Rob is secretly relieved.

Later, a hungover Peter visits Jim in his cell begging for more alcohol. Jim insists that if he loves his son, he needs to stand up and fight for his innocence - but will he get through to Peter?

Meanwhile, having spent the night with Lloyd, Andrea tries to make peace with Jenna. However, Jenna is hostile, especially when Lloyd suggests that Andrea should move in. Later, Neil approaches them in the street and begs Andrea to give him another chance. How will he react when Lloyd insists that Andrea is moving on?

Elsewhere, as Kylie struggles to cope with Max's behaviour, Gail and Michael try to help.

Also, Kirk contemplates how best to propose to Beth.

Finally, Gary is concerned about the cheap building materials being used on Tyrone's loft conversion, but Todd tells him to shut up or he'll lose his job.

    Monday (2)

Ken and Tracy return from Peter's plea hearing, buoyed that he pleaded not guilty. Rob's heart sinks when he hears the news. When Carla surmises that it will soon be Peter's trial and then it will all be over, will Rob be able to hand his unease?

Back inside, Peter tells Jim that he took his advice and pleaded not guilty. Jim promises to supply him with booze in return for Peter's help, but what does Jim want from Peter?

Meanwhile, Neil tells Andrea that he has got a year's contract working abroad and he wants her to go with him. Andrea tells him again that it's over, but will her words fall on deaf ears? Later, Jenna finds herself duped into having dinner with Lloyd and Andrea. Can the two women sort out their differences?

Elsewhere, when Kylie asks Gail to babysit Max, she's unimpressed when Gail says she can't as it clashes with her lunch date with Michael.

Also, Michelle talks Rob into hiring her to organise his wedding, but how will Tracy react to the news?

Finally, Kirk takes Beth to the café with the intention of proposing, but will his plan go awry?

    Wednesday

Gail and Michael's romantic picnic is ruined when he inadvertently runs over her foot! Michael is mortified as the couple are forced to eat their picnic in A&E.

Michael's day goes from bad to worse when he then misses his curfew and David gleefully points out that he could be sent back to prison.

Meanwhile, Jim promises that he'll find Peter some alcohol in return for some biscuits. Desperate Peter steals his cellmate's sweets and quickly guzzles the booze.

Elsewhere, after a pep talk from Sophie, Jenna announces to Lloyd that it's time she did something with her life and she's going to do volunteer work overseas. Lloyd is gutted as Jenna bids farewell to the street.

Also today, Kirk prepares a romantic meal at home for Beth as he psyches himself up again to propose, but will the right moment arise?

    Friday

After a run-in with Leanne, Nick is on edge and takes his frustration out on Steph in the Bistro. Fed up, Steph warns him that if he continues he'll have to find a new waitress. Rocked, Nick admits to Audrey that he is at his wits' end with the pressure of the divorce.

Later, when Nick sees Leanne, Kal, David and Alya all laughing together in the café, he suddenly clutches his head and cries out in pain. Is Nick having a seizure?

Meanwhile, still feeling guilty about running over Gail's foot, Michael offers to be her servant for the day. Gail is touched, but when Michael tells her how much she means to him, will Gail respond?

Elsewhere, disconcerted by Kirk's strange behaviour, Beth worries that he is going off her. Deciding it's time to take action, Beth tells a bemused Kirk that she is taking him out for dinner.

Also, Deirdre is less than impressed when Ken reveals he has booked them a camping holiday.

    Friday (1)

As everyone gathers round Nick, Roy wants to call an ambulance. However, Nick makes out that he's a had a few similar attacks and they're brought on by stress.

After Nick leaves, Leanne and Kal feel terrible - but when Nick reveals to David that he faked his seizure to make them feel guilty, David is appalled. When Leanne then offers to put the divorce on hold if the stress is causing his seizures, will Nick come clean about his dirty tricks?

Meanwhile, when Gail announces that she and Michael are now an item, will the family give her their blessing?

Elsewhere, in the kebab shop, Kirk furtively hides the engagement ring in Beth's food. However, Kirk panics when she chucks her kebab in the bin, claiming she needs to lose weight. Desperately trying to retrieve the ring, will Kirk finally pop the question?

Also, will Ken be able to convince a reluctant Deirdre to set off on their caravan holiday?

Coronation Street's Jim McDonald tries to get fellow prisoner Peter Barlow back on the right track in tonight's episodes (August 11).

Jim (Charles Lawson) offers some advice to Peter after the troubled alcoholic comes to beg him for more booze on the day of his plea hearing.

Peter (Chris Gascoyne) feels that he needs a drink to get him through the day, but Jim's main concern is whether he will be pleading guilty or not guilty in court.

When Peter insists that he'll be pleading guilty to spare his family any more heartache, Jim angrily accuses him of taking the easy way out and not doing what is best for Simon. Will Jim's words strike a chord with Peter?

Paul O'Grady has made a rescue dog a star of Coronation Street for his new series of For The Love of Dogs.

American bulldog Krystal was selected by O'Grady for her star-quality and will appear on tonight's (August 15) episode of the ITV soap at 8.30pm.

It's hoped that the role will help her find a new owner, after spending months in Battersea Dogs & Cats Home.

Speaking about Krystal's turn on the show, O'Grady said: "She was good as gold. In her scene Ken is preparing his car and caravan to go camping with Deirdre and he's outside the Rovers fixing the engine.

"Krystal comes out of the Rovers with Ali, the dog handler, and walks over the road, it took one take, the dog was the star! I think it was my tutelage in the dressing room."

    Krystal's big moment!

He added: "She's one of these breeds that people say 'oh no' but she's a sweetheart she really is.

"You have to look below the surface really. She's just brilliant but because of what she is people say no, they've got such a bad reputation.

"She gave the Barlows a run for their money, she upstaged the lot of them. That's my girl, she's a star!"

The third series of Paul O'Grady: For The Love of Dogs returns to ITV this September.

Should have had Krystal meet up with Eccles!
