Over on Coronation Street, a week of mixed fortunes for Peter Barlow will culminate in him coming face-to-face with Jim McDonald behind bars.

Peter (Chris Gascoyne) has recently reached rock bottom while trying to fight for his freedom, as nobody seems to believe that he didn't kill his ex-lover Tina McIntyre.

Fortunately for Peter, there's a ray of hope next month when his father Ken returns to Weatherfield.

Although Ken is shocked that his wife Deirdre didn't tell him about Peter's predicament, he is adamant that his son is innocent and vows to support him every step of the way.

Paying a visit to Peter, Ken vows to find him a new solicitor and also promises to convince Simon to come and see him.

This promise proves to be a stumbling block for Ken, as Tina's real killer Rob Donovan finds a way to interfere with his plans.

Wanting life to be as difficult as possible for Peter, cunning Rob deliberately invites Simon to the zoo with Tracy and Amy on the day that the visit is due to take place.

When Rob's scheming pays off and Ken turns up for the next prison visit alone, Peter is left feeling downhearted all over again.

Later, a depressed Peter slips back into his old ways when his cellmate reveals that there is another inmate known as The Landlord, who illegally sells alcohol to the prisoners.

When Peter pays The Landlord a visit for a quick fix, he's shocked to find that it's none other than Jim!

Great storyline. I hope Jim gives Peter the support he needs inside and refuses to give him any alcohol.

Jims charachter is one of the few old faces in soapland that seems to work every time they bring him back. Hope this time continues the tradition.

    Monday

Deirdre is nervous as she prepares the house for Ken's homecoming, dreading having to break the news about Peter's imprisonment. However, Ken gets an earlier flight back in order to surprise her.

When Ken bumps into Carla on the street, will she enlighten him about Peter before Deirdre gets chance to break the news gently?

Meanwhile, Kylie wonders if Max's problems are due to his no-good dad and bad genes. Will the doctor be able to make a diagnosis that better explains his behaviour?

Elsewhere, Tony puts pressure on Todd to drum up some business. When he tells Jason that he has found them an emergency roofing job, Jason is quietly impressed.

Also, Michael tells Gail that he's had the van fixed and he'll soon be up and running.

    Monday (2)

Ken is shellshocked as Carla fills him in on Peter's misdemeanours and subsequent imprisonment. Ken is fuming, unable to comprehend why Deirdre didn't tell him about Peter's plight weeks ago.

Deirdre tries to explain herself but Ken is cold and vows to visit his son as soon as he can. As he accuses Deirdre of abandoning Peter in his hour of need, will Deirdre tell him a few home truths?

Meanwhile, the doctor tells Kylie and David that he thinks Max has ADHD and needs referring to a child psychiatrist for assessment. He assures them it's perfectly treatable and most likely caused by a genetic disorder. Kylie is shaken.

Elsewhere, Tony and Todd are unimpressed when Jason offers to do a loft conversion for Tyrone at mates rates. Will they be able to convince him to strike a better deal?

Also, Audrey despairs as it becomes clear that Gail and Michael still hold a torch for each other.

    Wednesday

Ken visits Peter in prison. He assures Peter that he has his full support and that he is convinced of his innocence. Ken suggests they hire a new solicitor and promises he'll do his best to persuade Simon to visit.

Peter returns to his cell with renewed hope, while Ken turns to Deirdre for support in helping to find Tina's real killer.

Meanwhile, Jason is oblivious as Tony and Todd continue to formulate ways to rip off their customers. How will Jason react when he discovers that Todd has tried to dupe Norris into thinking he needs a new roof?

Elsewhere, Steve and Jenna are worried when Lloyd admits that despite all of her lies, he still misses Andrea.

Also today, Chesney and Sinead struggle to find a new business venture.

Finally, Tracy and Rob set a date for the wedding.

    Friday

Ken wants to take Simon to visit Peter in prison, convinced that it will give him something to fight for.

Desperate to stop this, Rob invites Simon to the zoo with Tracy and Amy. How will Peter react when Ken arrives for visiting time alone?

Meanwhile, when Neil turns up in the cab office and tells Lloyd that Andrea has disappeared without a trace, Lloyd is worried. Steve and Jenna beg him to forget about her, but will Lloyd be drawn back to Andrea?

Elsewhere, after their failure at making soap, Chesney and Sinead attempt a range of bath bombs which Beth and Kirk put to the test.

Also, scheming Tony and Todd conspire to buy cheap building materials for Tyrone's loft conversion.

    Friday (2)

Peter's cellmate reveals there is an inmate known as 'The Landlord', who illegally sells alcohol to the prisoners. Peter pays him a visit and is shocked to discover The Landlord is none other than Jim McDonald!

At the same time, Ken tells Rob that he has hired a new solicitor for Peter, as he is determined to find the real murderer. Rob is left unnerved.

Meanwhile, Lloyd meets Andrea. She tells him that she has left Neil for good and has been sleeping on a friend's sofa. It's evident there's still a spark between them, but will Lloyd succumb to her charms and agree to take Andrea back?

Elsewhere, Kirk rushes Beth to the doctors after she suffers an allergic reaction to the bath bomb. It's easily treated, but Kirk confides in Chesney that Beth's health scare has made him realise how much he loves her and wants to marry her.
