yeah i knew there would be something so another drama for priya no doubt david will rescue her and the whole crap storyline with them 2 starts again pathetic attempt on producers part to make viewers engage with the character more and get her to be more likable. why does every new character have to be a physco. i thought it would be his son that was going to be new villian

I did have hopes that Priya and David would be done for good, and she could be with someone else, like Rakesh. But if he's no good, then David will be all over her, and yet again, we are left with a devastated Alicia, and a poor Jake.

I appreciate Dave wants to be part of his daughter's life but he sure is not showing any respect to his wife, who he chose over his then fiance, the mother of his child. I suppose he is being extra friendly to Rakesh because he is scared that he will take Priya and Amber away from Emmerdale but I wish he would remember that he has a wife who he is hurting with these actions... *sigh*

Emmerdale's Pasha Bocarie has signed a new contract to stay with the ITV soap for another year.

The actor will now appear as Rakesh Kotecha until at least summer 2016, according to the Daily Star Sunday.

Bocarie said: "When they offered me a contract, it was a real moment of celebration. I knew straight away I wanted to stay on.

"It's a show that's been going for 40 years or so. To come into it and make my own character in such a great cast is amazing. I knew my current contract was coming to its end but I was thinking positively.

"You never know if you're going to get killed off. But it's very exciting to know I'm staying."

Rakesh arrived in Emmerdale village last year as a potential suitor for Priya Sharma. The pair soon got together, but their relationship was almost ruined by the revelation that Rakesh is an old business rival of Priya's brother Jai.

Rakesh's behaviour has taken a villainous turn lately, as he was seen tampering with the DNA test results for Vanessa Woodfield's unborn baby in an attempt to keep his son Kirin away from her.
