yes it was a £20000 win for Edna, and she gives some to Ruby

it sounds as if she then realises it is for a same-sex IVF baby and changes her mind!!!

Alicia 'inherits' the 70k from someone she claims not to know - could this be a throw back to when Leyla was performing on her pole and using Alicia's name? an elderly 'client' pops their clogs and bequeaths the money to 'alicia'...??

Coming up on Emmerdale, Alicia Metcalfe betrays her sister Leyla Harding when she gets an unexpected windfall.

An upcoming storyline sees Alicia (Natalie Anderson) left baffled when she inherits £70,000 following the death of a man called Keith Cheesedale.

Alicia is adamant that she has never heard of Keith, but all becomes clear when Leyla (Roxy Shahidi) later mentions her recently-deceased boss 'Cheesy'.

While Alicia realises that the money was intended for Leyla, who used her name when working at the strip club, she decides to keep it for herself rather than telling her sister the truth.

Unfortunately for Alicia, her deception soon catches up with her when an angry lady named Tina arrives at The Woolpack and throws a drink over her, accusing her of stealing her husband's inheritance.

Watching the drama unfold, Leyla finally realises where Alicia's money has come from and vows to get what is owed to her. Will Alicia pay up?

    Monday

Val is left shaken after her less-than-romantic night with Tiny. Pollard arrives at the barn to find her with a bruised cheek but believes her cover story. Later at the B&B, when Tiny arrives with the bread order, he makes reference to Val being 'diseased goods', unaware that she is listening.

Pollard is furious to realise that it was Tiny who caused the bruise on Val's cheek and challenges him to a fight in front of everyone, including Diane and Val. As tempers soar, it's not long before the police arrive to sort out the fracas…

Meanwhile, Alicia and David are shocked to discover from the solicitor that Alicia has been left £70,000 inheritance money. But Alicia is confused - she never knew a Keith Cheesedale who supposedly left her the money in his will.

Elsewhere, could a wedding competition be the answer to Kerry's prayers?

Also today, money is tight for Ali and Edna takes an interest on hearing that the Spencer's need a new car.

    Tuesday

David and Alicia wonder how to spend the mystery money. At the same time, Jacob lets it slip to Leyla about the money that Alicia and David have received. Later that evening, when the matter of finances is brought up, Alicia squirms as Leyla suggests they must have fiddled their insurance claim. However, Alicia soon feels even more awkward when Leyla mentions her recently-deceased boss 'Cheesy'.

The penny drops for Alicia that the money was meant for Leyla, who used her name when working at the club. But will Alicia confess the truth to her sister?

Meanwhile, having spent the night in a cell, Diane and Pollard are released without charge. However, Val is not so lucky and is charged, fuelling her anger further. Refusing a lift home, Val arrives back at The Woolpack splattered in mud. Diane is desperate to make amends with her sister, but Val is stubborn. Can she forgive and forget all that has happened?

Elsewhere, Kerry enlists the help of Amelia and Brenda to help her make a wedding video. However, Brenda is gobsmacked when Kerry uses Gennie's death to try for a sympathy vote. With marriage on her mind, Kerry starts to bid for a wedding dress on eBay. Surely Kerry is getting way ahead of herself?

Also today, Edna sneaks an envelope of money into Ruby's bag. Later, Ruby and Ali are confused but touched when they find it, which leaves Edna with a warm glow.

Finally, Bernice and Andy continue their secret dalliances.

    Wednesday

At The Woolpack, Leyla makes a veiled blackmail attempt about the 'insurance scam'. Soon afterwards, an angry lady called Tina arrives at the pub and throws a drinks over Alicia, accusing her of screwing her out of her husband's inheritance.

Taking this in, Leyla works out where Alicia's money has come from. Leyla is livid with Alicia and David for ripping her off, but how far will she go to get what is owed to her?

Meanwhile, Val is touched to find out that the village have boycotted Tiny in support of her. Their support gives Val an idea and soon Pollard is shocked to learn that his wife wants to give a talk to their B&B guests about her HIV. Diane and Victoria suggest she widen the audience and deliver it at the pub instead. Later, despite being daunted at the prospect, Val bravely begins her talk about living with HIV. How will her speech be received?

Elsewhere, Kerry remains determined to win the wedding competition and begins her webcam video in her newly-acquired wedding dress. Dan interrupts her, but can Kerry cover her tracks with Dan still unaware of her hopes?

Also today, Donna's hunt for somewhere to live continues and when Rhona offers to have April for a sleepover, Donna asks a favour.

Finally, Edna isn't happy to learn that Ruby plans to put the money towards their 'baby fund'.

    Thursday

Donna is shocked to discover that all of her invested savings have gone into liquidation, forcing her to take up Rhona's offer to move in with her and Paddy.

Later at work, Donna confides in PC Swirling about her money worries as he passes her some stolen jewellery to log. With her mind on April's future, Donna quickly pockets some of the items which haven't yet been logged. Is Donna really stealing from the police station?

Meanwhile, Leyla changes tactics and milks her sadness in order to try to get her money back, but she is furious when Alicia suggests splitting it. Hearing all this, Jacob sets about trying to fix it himself. Leyla later sneaks into the shop with a blowtorch she borrowed from the garage in order to open the safe, but she is shocked to find that the money isn't there - and David and Alicia are equally dumbfounded.

Elsewhere, Edna is in turmoil as she tells Harriet that she's going to ask Ruby and Ali for the money back, but when she overhears a hopeful Ruby on the phone to the clinic, she feels guilty. Ali is also angry when she learns that Ruby has gone behind her back about the IUI without telling her.

Also, Debbie persists with digging into Pete's past, but will it be what she expects?

Finally, Moira feels guilty as James struggles to provide references in order to set up his own farm, while Chas, Katie and Vanessa start to organise Moira's surprise hen night.

    Thursday (2)

Marlon is pleased to hear that Donna is moving into Smithy. Later, Donna tries to flog the stolen jewellery to an old contact, Greg. Harriet clocks Donna with Greg and tells Marlon that Donna should chose her friends more carefully. Marlon heads over to interrupt them, but a stressed Donna tells him to stay out of her business.

Later, Laurel is annoyed that Marlon had not discussed April's trust fund with her first, but Marlon remains preoccupied over concerns for Donna. Will he tackle her again over the matter?

Soon afterwards, a furtive Donna searches out a place to hide the stolen goods, but panics when a drunken Greg returns and finds her home alone.

Meanwhile, Alicia, David and Leyla realise that Jacob is behind the disappearing money and track him down to the riverbank. Jacob declares that he is sick of all their arguing and throws the notes into the water. He watches in disgust as Leyla desperately tries to save the cash, yelling to David to grab what he can. Alicia eventually comes to a realisation and later tells Leyla that the money is all hers. But will Leyla accept it or have a change of heart?

Elsewhere, Ali is relieved when Ruby makes the decision not to go through the stress of IUI again and Edna is pleased to hear they have changed their mind as to how to spend the money.

Also, James assures Chas they will stay together when he moves farms.

Finally, DC Flanagan informs Debbie that Pete has a previous charge for assault. Will it be a reason for Debbie to call time on their relationship?

    Friday

Moira arrives at The Woolpack to find out that her friends have planned her a hen night. She is stunned when Cain suggests they are marrying next week and although overwhelmed, a delighted Moira agrees. The men leave Moira to enjoy her party.

Soon afterwards, Charity arrives with Declan and appears saddened at what she has walked in on, but she later takes the opportunity to clear the air with Moira, letting her know that her past with Cain is just that. But is Charity as content in life as she would like others to believe?

Meanwhile, Adam catches James at Butler's packing his things and is quick to tell him how Moira is happier now he has gone. James is unable to shake his doubts about Adam and when he suddenly comes across the hidden wad of cash, he determinedly sets about buying a home DNA testing kit online. Could James be about to burst Moira's bubble?

Elsewhere, at Cain's stag night, a cut-up Pete informs Ross that Debbie has dumped him. Later, after breaking free from the stag group, Ross finds a tipsy Debbie outside the pub after abandoning Moira's hen do. She suggests Ross should go back to hers to open another bottle, so he follows her. Will Ross be tempted to take things further when a seriously drunk Debbie kisses him?

Also today, Donna is guilty as she lies to Marlon about reporting Greg to the police.

Finally, Belle is frustrated when Sean appears to be procrastinating over their plan to have a baby, until he asks Dan for private study time so they at last can find time alone.
