    As Luke's funeral was on screen, Steph had to be back for that but I did think her return was more long term or permanent

    Why? nothing left for her, no job (not that it would have been a drama as employment is easy on Coronation Street) and Mr Phelan has scared her off .. she is better off in Portugal
