Coronation Street star Tisha Merry, who played Steph Britton, has reportedly been wooed back by show chiefs and is set to return to the cobbles in 2018.
According to the Daily Star, Merry has already been back on set filming – meaning if true, her scenes will air in the next couple of months.
And there's plenty of scope for Steph to be on our screens again following her departure in January of this year.
Tisha joined Corrie as Steph in 2013, a friend of the then-existing character Katy Armstrong. Viewers are aware that Katy was killed in an off-screen car crash just recently, so could Steph's return be connected to that somehow?
Steph's other storylines included her struggle with grief when her close mate Tina McIntyre was murdered by Rob Donovan, and her revenge porn hell when an ex-boyfriend blackmailed her with saucy pictures that she'd sent him while they were together.
Her other big plot saw her enter into a relationship with Andy Carver, who kept her on her toes with various lies and deceit. Steph is unaware that he's since been murdered by evil Pat Phelan – so might her comeback be connected to that?
Steph's brother Luke also still resides in the Street, and has recently been investigating Phelan's connection to Andy – so Steph could well be back to help her sibling during some tough times.
Coronation Street simply told Digital Spy: "We do not comment on contracts." So the jury is still out as to whether we'll be seeing Steph again or not... That means she is coming back ..lol

her exit without andy made no sense
Coronation Street fans are getting a first look at Steph Britton's sad return to Weatherfield in these brand new spoiler pictures.
Steph will be heading back to the cobbles in tragic circumstances, as her brother Luke was brutally murdered by Pat Phelan last week.
New paparazzi pictures now show the Coronation Street cast filming on location for Luke's funeral, which will air in a few weeks' time.

A devastated Steph is among the mourners, joined by Luke's grieving girlfriend Alya Nazir.
Other guests include Rana Nazir, Kate Connor and Bethany Platt – while Phelan also puts in an appearance, unable to resist paying his last respects to his own murder victim!
Our shots show that the cast were all smiles as they caught up in between takes, in contrast to the sombre scenes they were filming when the cameras were rolling.

Word that Tisha Merry would be reprising her role as Steph first leaked out last month. She was last seen on the show in January 2017.
Steph has been tipped to get drawn into the Phelan storyline, but could she play detective by finding out that the resident villain killed her brother Luke and her boyfriend Andy?
Let's hope so, as Dean Fagan – who played Luke – did recently tease that his character's murder would spark the beginning of the end for Phelan.
Speaking last week, Dean explained: "I was excited to realise that I was going to be a pivotal part of the start of Phelan's demise and the start of the unravelling – that someone else has found out the truth and he has now killed again, which is a desperate act and one that is going to eventually start more questions being asked.
"The Phelan era is huge and he has played such a massive part in the Street, so to be involved in that is brilliant. Luke will play his part in the whole endgame."
