There's good news for EastEnders fans who are missing having Linda Carter around – her return scenes are now just over a week away.

Linda has been absent from the Queen Vic since December last year, although we've seen her briefly return for a couple of one-off episodes since then.

The popular Queen Vic landlady had to disappear from our screens as Kellie Bright went on maternity leave. Kellie welcomed the arrival of Gene, her second son with husband Paul Stocker, last November.

It's now been revealed that we'll see Linda return properly on Monday, August 7 – hot on the heels of Whitney's Albert Square comeback days earlier.

There's no doubt that Mick will want to make everything perfect for Linda's return, but early whispers have suggested that it won't take long before tensions flare up between the couple.

EastEnders fans know that Linda is currently harbouring a huge secret, as she stayed away from Albert Square for much longer than she needed to.

Linda has been telling everyone that she's still busy taking care of her mum Elaine, who suffered a stroke at Christmas. However, a recent episode revealed that Elaine is actually back to full health and Linda is hiding something huge.

We also know that there's a special Linda/Whitney/Mick three-hander episode coming up soon, so will Linda find out the truth about Mick betraying her by kissing his daughter-in-law?
