Is Anthony Quinlan on a break or something? I know in the program it said Pete got 6 months but the actual last episode was him being carted off in a police car for throwing a brick in the window.

Pete was arrested after throwing a brick through Debbie's Mulberry Cottage house and left Emmerdale for prison on Tue 12 Jan (the official Emmerdale storyline seemed to be that Pete was so scared of Cain that Pete did his actions to save himself...?). Pete later appeared in court offscreen and was sentenced to 6 months in prison over issues with Ross. Assuming he's been a quiet lad and slept a lot, he should get out of prison after 3 months, making his return to Emmerdale due around mid-April 2016?

Anthony Quinlan's Emmerdale yearly contract was due to run out around early December 2015 or earlier. There has been no announcement about any renewal as of yet, as far as I know.

The actor has holidayed recently in Switzerland, so I assume that he's taken time off away for 3 months or so from Emmerdale whilst there are no current storylines on TV for Pete Barton.

Carly is shortly to have a major storyline about a previous baby boy.

I would like to see Pete return to Emmerdale and support Carly as her new decent, stable, reliable and local boyfriend after this but time will tell what the storyliners have planned for Carly in a while for us.
