Neighbours will air mysterious scenes for newcomer Chelsea Murphy in the coming week, as she is revealed to have a secret interest in Paul Robinson.

Chelsea will make her debut in scenes airing on Thursday, January 18 and Monday, January 22, when she makes a surprise arrival in Erinsborough.

Cara and Remi Varga-Murphy are enjoying dinner with Aaron Brennan and David Tanaka, when the group are interrupted by an unexpected visitor: Cara's sister, Chelsea.

While Cara is thrilled to see her sibling, Remi's enthusiasm is far more muted. Charming Chelsea is soon holding court at the dinner, winning over David and Aaron and talking up her excitement over reconnecting with her family.

She soon reveals that she has also lined up several meetings to pitch her new fragrance to Melbourne retailers while she's in town.

The next morning, Remi is unimpressed when she hears that Chelsea has been giving son JJ pointers on how to win over his crush, Sadie Rodwell. Remi is left feeling even more left out when Cara doesn't back up her concerns.

Remi's frustrations over the situation only grow when she comes across Chelsea catching up with David and Aaron again, as she worries that her sister-in-law is inserting herself into all aspects of her life.

When Remi vents to Cara that she feels like her wife is a different person around Chelsea, Cara points out how much it means to her to be able to spend time with her sister, adding that Chelsea won't be around forever.

However, Cara is moved when she later learns that Chelsea is thinking about making a permanent move to the area to spend more time with her.

Cara is full of hopeful anticipation ? completely unaware that Chelsea is busy firing up a secret folder on her laptop, which is full of information about the Robinson family.

While Cara believes that Chelsea is in town just to see her and the boys, it's clear that her sister's interest in Paul runs deep...

When Remi later sees Chelsea trying to start a conversation with Paul, she worries that Chelsea is about to create havoc for Cara at her workplace. But Cara doesn't mind Chelsea speaking to Paul, who is impressed by Chelsea's eloquent pitch.

Whatever Chelsea is up to appears to be working ? but why is she so interested in Paul?

I think that the storyline of JJ's paternity still has a fair bit to play out. In a Neighbours 2024 preview interview with Radiotimes.com at the beginning of January, executive producer Jason Herbison said:

"JJ?s daddy twist

?The chapter of JJ?s search for his biological father is certainly not closed. While JJ believes he is the US donor Cara lined up, there is a further twist in store.

"It has everything to do with the mysterious passage Andrew read in Phillipa?s diary and the infamous missing pages. We planned this to be a long story arc and there are many more developments to come.? "

Accordingly, there has been plenty of online speculation as to what this means, including the theory that Andrew Rodwell's paternity test results could have been "tampered with" & he may still be JJ's father. Other names have also been thrown up, including, as you have mentioned, Paul & even the likes of Finn Kelly!! We will have to wait & see whether these possibilities are all just theories & his biological father is indeed the anonymous US donor etc.

I think some people were saying that either there might have been a simple mistake or error with the results, that will be picked up later on or that even with Remi now working at the hospital she might have been able to ?tamper? with them at some point etc (so as not to cause turmoil for her family).

I think she is more after his money & wants him to invest in her business, but I am sure there will be a lot of flirting etc involved! (a gold digger perhaps...)

(Also, being Cara's sister, will she be involved in JJ's ongoing paternity storyline ie does she know more about who his biological father is, or the missing diary pages etc??)

Neighbours newcomer Chelsea Murphy tries to take inspiration from Terese Willis as her scheming continues next week.

Chelsea, who's the charming sister of Cara Varga-Murphy, remains laser-focused on Paul Robinson as she tries to win him over.

Monday's episode (January 22) saw Chelsea pitch a business idea to Paul, encouraging him to start including her perfume brand in the hotel rooms at Lassiters as a special treat for guests.

Paul was intrigued by the idea, but Chelsea seemed to have a much bigger hidden agenda as she practiced writing her name as "Mrs Chelsea Robinson" during a moment alone.

Next week, Chelsea tries to secure some more alone time with Paul but is left frustrated by his busy schedule.

Chelsea also grows irritated when she spots Paul getting distracted by his ex-wife Terese.

Never one to pass up an opportunity, Chelsea decides that she needs to understand her rival better and tries to talk business with her.

This conversation provides Chelsea with the useful intel she needs before giving herself a Terese-style makeover.

Chelsea imitates Terese's fashion sense, buys herself the same perfume and even copies her gestures.

Paul recognises the familiar perfume scent and Chelsea realises that her plan is working as the businessman draws closer to her.

However, just when Chelsea is about to ask Paul out on a date, Sadie Rodwell interrupts and reminds her that she hasn't been paid for working on her recent perfume pop-up stall at Lassiters.

Feeling embarrassed in front of Paul, can Chelsea recover her composure and get her plan back on track?

Neighbours airs these scenes on Monday, January 29.
