Sherlock's Benedict Cumberbatch, Ant & Dec and The X Factor are among the shows and stars nominated for the 2014 National Television Awards.

The 19th NTAs take place at London's O2 on Wednesday, January 22. Dermot O'Leary returns as the host.

Ant and Dec, who have dominated the awards for over a decade, once again picked up a handful of nominations for their shows and will be aiming to extend their consecutive Entertainment Presenter victory tally to 13.

The duo will be up against Keith Lemon, Graham Norton, Alan Carr and O'Leary.

Saturday Night Takeaway and I'm a Celebrity are also nominated, alongside Celebrity Juice and The Graham Norton Show in the Entertainment Programme category.

In the all-new TV Detective category, Cumberbatch will face off against Broadchurch duo Olivia Colman and David Tennant, Suranne Jones (Scott and Bailey) and Idris Elba (Luther).

Educating Yorkshire, Inside Death Row with Trevor McDonald, Paul O'Grady's Working Britain and Penguins - Spy in the Huddle will compete for the Documentary Series crown, while The Great British Bake Off, Paul O'Grady: For The Love of Dogs, An Idiot Abroad and Top Gear are in the Documentary Series category.

Simon Cowell's X Factor may have lost the ratings war, but it will be hoping to claim back its NTA Talent Show crown from Strictly Come Dancing. The Voice, Dancing on Ice and Britain's Got Talent are also nominated.

Meanwhile, the big Drama battle is between Broadchurch, Doctor Who, Call The Midwife and Downton Abbey.

The NTAs is the only TV awards ceremony where all the winners are chosen by the public in a huge nationwide poll.

Voting is open now at NationalTVAwards.com. Voting closes at 12 noon on Wednesday, January 22, 2014.
