    From There To Here

Life on Mars stars Philip Glenister and Liz White are to reunite for upcoming BBC drama From There To Here.

BBC One confirmed the three-parter, which depicts the lives of two families caught in the aftermath of the 1996 IRA bomb attack on Manchester city centre.

Lord of the Rings actor Bernard Hill joins the cast alongside Glenister and White, as well as Luther stars Steven Mackintosh and Saskia Reeves. Daniel Rigby (Eric and Ernie) and Morven Christie (Hunted) will also appear.

From There To Here explores the lives of Glenister's character Daniel Cotton and his father Samuel, played by Hill, Daniel's wife Clare (Reeves), son Charlie (Rigby) and daughter Louise (Christie).

Daniel's brother Robbo - portrayed by Mackintosh - has a strained relationship with Samuel and is involved in parts of the darker side of Manchester as a nightclub manager.

After Daniel, Samuel and Robbo are caught in the blast with cleaner Joanne (White), their lives are thrown into crisis in a way that will "soon spin out of control".

Creator Peter Bowker said that the drama is "a love letter to Manchester" which will show the bad and the good of the city "through a family saga that captured something of the city's pace, life and humour".

Glenister commented: "I'm really excited to be involved in such a terrific new drama. Also to be working alongside such an outstanding cast and crew. And of course to be back filming in my adopted home town of Manc!"

From There To Here is directed by Broadchurch's James Strong and will air on BBC One.
