Meanwhile, Sam's maternal skills are revealed as she rescues the baby of a broken family.

Casualty's Zoe Hanna has to fight to keep Tess Bateman working at the hospital in this week's episode after she threatens to resign.

Zoe (Sunetra Sarker) meets up with Tess after a busy day at work, having received an emotional phone call from her.

As the two colleagues have a heart-to-heart, Tess (Suzanne Packer) admits that she is ready to quit the hospital as her pregnancy was the result of a fling with someone at work.

Although Tess doesn't tell Zoe who it was, she feels that it would be too difficult to resume working at the ED in light of everything that's happened.

Zoe immediately urges Tess to reconsider, pointing out that the guy in question isn't likely to give up his job over this. However, with Tess at breaking point, will she make the right decision?
