Coming up on EastEnders, Ian Beale finds a way to scheme against his own daughter when she is at her most vulnerable.

Ian (Adam Woodyatt) resorts to desperate measures after Lucy (Hetti Bywater) refuses to help him pay off his debt to sinister Carl White.

Putting a plan into action, Ian tells Joey Branning (David Witts) to stop leading Lucy on. Taking this on board, Joey ends their relationship, leaving Lucy distraught.

When Lucy returns home and confides in Ian, he uses her distracted and fragile state to his own advantage, asking her to sign a 'building insurance renewal form'.

In reality, the document is an agreement that Lucy will sign all of the Beale businesses back over to Ian's name. Will Ian's devious plan work?

EastEnders airs these scenes on Monday, July 15 at 8pm on BBC One.

Carl warns Ian that he wants his next instalment of cash in the next few days. Ian makes another appeal to Lucy for help, but she still isn't interested and suggests that he should sell the restaurant to pay off his debt. Ian reluctantly agrees to do so, but in private he makes it clear to Peter that he has no intention of selling up. Adding to the intrigue, a courier soon arrives at the Beale house with a mysterious delivery for Ian.

Later, Ian warns Joey to stop leading Lucy on. Deciding to set the record straight, Joey goes to the café with Sally - a girl he met earlier - and tells Lucy that their relationship is over. When a shocked Lucy confides in Ian about her heartbreak, he seizes an opportunity while she is distracted, asking her to sign a building insurance renewal form. Ian then heads straight to his solicitor, and we see that he has tricked Lucy into signing all of the businesses back over to him…

Meanwhile, Jean is still stressed in the aftermath of the fire, telling Kat that she doesn't want to return to work once the restaurant re-opens as she fears that she'll let the truth slip. A caring Kat convinces Jean to head to the allotment for some peace and quiet, but even this turns into a problem as Ollie keeps interrupting with green-fingered advice. Becoming irritated, Jean snaps at Ollie and storms off into her shed. Once Jean returns, Ollie has already gone but he has done her weeding and left a note saying sorry.

Kirsty asks Abi to help with she and Max.
Elsewhere, Kirsty begs Abi to help her as Max is continuing to ignore her phone calls. However, when Abi tells Max about her run-in with Kirsty, she urges him not to let his ex back into his life. Later, Max is furious with Kirsty for getting Abi involved in their problems, and he reiterates that they are never getting back together.

Also today, Carl asks Kat to join him for a drink, Alfie and Roxy offer to help Dot's charity efforts by holding a speed dating fundraising event at The Vic, while Patrick breaks up with Betty now that he and Cora are an item.

    Tuesday

Ian starts to feel guilty about his scheme as Lucy helps him out with the re-opening of the restaurant. She also promises to stand by him when he sells up. Soon afterwards, Peter expresses fears that Ian is becoming unwell again, while Denise isn't sure that selling up is his best option. Taking all of this on board, Lucy eventually tells Ian that he doesn't need to sell Scarlett's - they'll find another way to pay off Carl and Janine.

Later, Lucy is shellshocked when she makes a phone call to the bank and discovers what Ian has done. She's quick to demand answers from her father, who is forced to admit in front of Peter and Denise that he's taken back what is rightfully his.

Meanwhile, Roxy comes across Alfie and Kat's decree nisi, which has just come through. This puts Roxy in a great mood, and she's even more pleased that she and Alfie are getting along so well. However, Roxy later becomes unsettled as she wonders why Alfie hasn't mentioned the decree nisi to her.

Shirley is not impressed with the 'talent'.
Elsewhere, Shirley receives a letter that clearly holds bad news, and she later makes a fool of herself by getting drunk at The Vic's speed dating night. In the end, Bianca has to take her home, where Shirley reveals that her benefits are being cut. This means that she won't be able to afford the rent anymore.

Also today, Max is thrown when Kirsty turns up to see him. Kirsty desperately tells Max that she knows she messed up, but they are meant to be together. It's clear that the ball has been left in Max's court.

Finally, Jean agrees to a date with Ollie when he turns up for the pub event, Kim gets lucky after taking part in the speed dating but fellow participants AJ and Tamwar end up leaving alone, Carl decides to try his luck with Kat again and this time she is tempted, while Dot is overjoyed to see that the speed dating event has raised so much cash.

    Thursday

With Kat worried about Jean's new relationship, Alfie intervenes by checking out Ollie and making sure that everything is fine. After assuring Kat that Ollie is a good guy, Alfie plucks up the courage to ask if she has received her decree nisi. Kat confirms that she has, and it's obvious that both are crushed by it. Soon afterwards, Kat admits to Alfie that she wants them to be a family again. Alfie makes it clear that he needs to move on with his life, but Kat claims that he will never love Roxy the way he loves her.

    Alfie proposes to Roxy.
That evening, Roxy arranges a surprise candlelit dinner for Alfie, which prompts him to finally come clean about the decree nisi. Roxy assures Alfie that they don't have to rush anything, but he soon leaves her stunned by dropping down on one knee and proposing. Alfie declares that he wants Roxy as his wife and she delightedly accepts. However, as they hug, it's clear that Alfie has Kat's words ringing in his ears…

Meanwhile, Ian tells Denise the truth about why he tricked Lucy and how Carl is blackmailing him. The seriousness of the situation hits Denise when she discovers that the burn on Ian's hand was caused by Carl. Denise decides to convince Phil to help Ian, and although Phil is reluctant to get involved, he later approaches Carl in The Vic. Carl tells Phil that he's not in Walford to tread on his toes, but he'd be an idiot to let Ian get away with stealing his money. Afterwards, Phil encourages Ian and Denise to get the cash to Carl as soon as possible.

Later, Ian gives £3,000 to Carl and assures him that he'll get the rest soon. However, Carl informs Ian that he now owes him interest and it'll keep on rising until Ian pays every penny.

Elsewhere, Michael tells Janine that he wants to celebrate Scarlett's birthday tomorrow - just the three of them. Janine rejects the suggestion, but later tells Michael that she has changed her mind. What is Janine up to?

Also today, Abi and Jack tell Max that they have booked him into a hotel near Lauren so he can visit her and clear his head, while Shirley storms out of the B&B with her belongings in bin bags after another row with Sharon.

    Friday

Janine has gone all-out for baby Scarlett's birthday, throwing an extremely lavish celebration complete with a pony, caterers and waiters. Michael tells Janine how ridiculous it is, but she warns him to get on board or leave. However, Michael realises that he still has one up on Janine when he sees that she has accidentally invited everyone from Scarlett's old playgroup, which the youngster only attended once because she didn't like it.

Later, Janine and Michael start to get along better at the party, and Janine is deeply touched when Michael gives her a bronzing of Scarlett's feet as a present. However, Janine freaks out when she sees a family photograph of Michael, Scarlett and herself, which Alice has just taken. Arriving home, Janine throws Michael's birthday card in the bin and makes a phone call to someone, asking him or her to come over on Monday. Who is on the other end of the line?

Lucy tells Ian she wants nothing to do with him.
Meanwhile, it's Bobby's birthday and Ian tries to get Lucy on side by saying that Bobby really wants a party. As everyone gathers to celebrate the occasion, Ian is delighted as he seems to be making progress with mending his relationship with Lucy. However, Lucy later realises that she was manipulated into giving Ian another chance, as Bobby didn't ask for a party at all. Disgusted with Ian, Lucy tells him that - aside from living under the same roof - she doesn't consider him family anymore and she wants nothing more to do with him.

Elsewhere, Roxy wants Alfie to tell Kat about their engagement so they can make it public, but it's clear that Alfie is dreading the conversation with his ex. Later, Kat bumps into Alfie outside The Vic and he decides to go to Scarlett's party with her and Tommy as a family. They have a great time at the party, but will Alfie tell Kat the truth?

Also today, Ian and Bianca are stunned to discover that Bobby and Tiffany have feelings for each other, while Lola holds Lexi's birthday party a week early but feels let down when nobody bothers to bring food, drink or any gifts.

EastEnders star Rita Simons has revealed that her character Roxy Mitchell will be delighted when pub boss Alfie Moon proposes to her.

Alfie pops the question to Roxy next week, after deciding it is time to move on with his life when his decree nisi comes through.

Simons said to TV Choice: "It's her wildest fantasy to have Alfie Moon propose to her.

"Apart from Sean who was the love of her life in a different way, Alfie is her ideal man. I think she will always love Sean but Alfie is home, security, warmth and honesty. She's very much in love with him."

However, before the proposal, Roxy is plagued with doubts over their relationship after it becomes apparent Alfie (Shane Richie) hasn't told her that his decree nisi has come through.

Simons said: "Roxy finds Alfie's decree nisi so she's floating around the pub for a couple of days in the best mood and is hinting constantly that he may have something to tell her, but he's not saying anything.

"Eventually she decides to make him this big dinner but he arrives straight from an argument with Kat and there's a misunderstanding. Roxy thinks he is going to end it with her."

Simons continues: "Alfie says he doesn't deserve her and she takes that in typical self-deprecating Roxy style as 'You're going to leave me'. The next thing she knows he's on his knees and he proposes."

It was recently announced that Samantha Womack, who plays Roxy's sister Ronnie, would be returning to the show.

Speaking about Womack's return, Simons said: "I'm delighted, I've tried to bag her a dressing room next door to me. I'm getting my sister back in every sense of the word because we're really close."

EastEnders airs Alfie's proposal next Thursday, July 18 at 7.30pm on BBC1.

Kirsty Branning continues her attempts to win back her estranged husband Max in EastEnders tonight (July 15).

Desperate to get her life back on track, Kirsty (Kierston Wareing) approaches Max's daughter Abi and urges her to speak to him on her behalf.

Abi (Lorna Fitzgerald) is shocked that Kirsty would try to involve her, not wanting to be caught in the middle like she always was with Max and Tanya.

When Abi encourages Max to make it clear to Kirsty that they're over for good, it seems that Kirsty's efforts have backfired badly. Will Max listen to his daughter?
