Coming up on EastEnders, Lauren Branning's life remains a mess as she continues to drink heavily.

Lauren (Jacqueline Jossa) feels like she has few allies left after splitting from Joey and falling out with her friends, so she finds herself drinking alone at the Queen Vic.

When Joey (David Witts) spots Lauren in a state at The Vic, he decides to take her for a walk to help her sober up.

Unfortunately, Lauren gets the wrong idea and tries to kiss Joey, prompting him to rebuff her and walk away. Lauren's mum Tanya (Jo Joyner) is then left to pick up the pieces as she watches on.

Later in the week, Tanya tries to address Lauren's drinking problem by expressing serious concern over her behaviour. However, Lauren manages to pacify her mother by promising to focus on college from now on.

In reality, Lauren is still depressed about Joey and her lack of friends, so she heads to the allotments and once again turns to the thing that she seems to constantly rely on - alcohol…

Billy Mitchell's first date with Ava Hartman doesn't go according to plan on EastEnders next week.

The pair's evening together comes after Ava's ex-husband Sam James has arrived back in town unexpectedly.

Although Ava's mind has been on Sam, her date with Billy (Perry Fenwick) gets off to a positive start as they continue to get along well.

When conversation turns to Lola, Billy admits that he's trying to make up for lost time with his granddaughter. However, this reminds Ava (Clare Perkins) of Dexter's relationship with Sam, which puts a dampener on the evening.

Ava's awkward reactions soon make Billy realise that she may still have feelings for her ex. She tries to rekindle the date and leans in to kiss Billy, but is this enough to save their blossoming relationship?
