I say let that brat Faye go live with her dad and then they can ride off into the sunset together. Sick of the sight of the child and her nasty little mouth

Coming up on Coronation Street, former Waterloo Road actress Katie McGlynn makes her first appearance as new character Sinead Tinker.

Sinead is the niece of existing regular Beth (Lisa George) and is being brought into Weatherfield as a new love interest for Chesney Brown (Sam Aston).

The arrival of Sinead comes just as it seems that there is no way back for Chesney's relationship with Katy Armstrong (Georgia May Foote).

Determined to make amends for her fling with Ryan Connor, Katy quits her job at the kebab shop so that she can concentrate on getting her family life back on track. Unfortunately, it seems that Chesney still can't forgive her.

Deciding to bring some happiness back to Chesney's life, Beth invites him to join her and Kirk as they head out for a drink with Sinead.

Although Chesney is reluctant, Beth has high hopes that Sinead and Chesney will become an item.

Chesney and Sinead end up getting along well, but when Katy sees them at the Bistro, the atmosphere is extremely awkward and the young mum leaves upset. Could this push Katy back into Ryan's arms, or will she continue to fight for Chesney?

Debbie Rush has revealed more details of the "heartbreaking" scenes in store as her character Anna Windass is falsely accused of being a violent parent.

Troubled schoolgirl Faye (Ellie Leach) makes the untrue allegation against her adoptive mum next week, hoping that her lies will result in her moving in with real dad Tim Metcalfe.

Faye resorts to the desperate measure after Tim (Joe Duttine) considers moving away from Weatherfield. Tim is ready to leave the area after being told by Anna that his presence has had a disruptive influence on his daughter's behaviour.

Speaking to itv.com about Faye's false claims, Rush explained: "Anna gets a knock on the door from social services, who tell her that Faye's going to be interviewed by the police. She never thought Faye would tell such a bad lie about her mum, so it really comes out of the blue and shocks Anna.

"Anna's very worried that she could lose Faye - she knows this is serious. Tim did threaten them with social services because of Owen's volatile behaviour. Anna never mentions it, but we know that a year ago Owen slapped Faye, and that's always at the back of Anna's mind."

The actress continued: "She's absolutely devastated. I've not stopped crying since we've been filming it - the scenes are really heartbreaking. Anna can't quite believe that she's taken this little girl on, sacrificed so much for her and loved her like her own, and this is the betrayal she's getting. But we have to remember that Faye is only 10, she's a very confused little girl who's had an awful upbringing."

In the end, Faye finally does the right thing by admitting that she made it all up. However, Anna remains distraught over the situation and considers letting Faye move in with Tim if that's what she really wants.

Rush said: "It makes Anna realise how much Faye wants to live with her dad. It's a tug of love and Anna loves her so much, but does she love her enough to let her go?"

Coronation Street airs the emotional scenes all next week on ITV.

When Faye is off school sick, Anna is forced to take her to work with her. Coming into the café, Tim gleans what's going on and offers to look after Faye back at his flat.

Anna reluctantly agrees as Faye laps up Tim's attention. But how will they both react when Faye makes a shock announcement?

Meanwhile, when both Eileen and Paul refuse to back down, an emotional Paul decides it's time he went house hunting. As Paul goes, Eileen struggles to hold it together. Is this really it?

Elsewhere, Leanne is shocked to discover that Stella and Karl are back together. As she brands Karl a cheat and a liar, how will Dev react to news of the coupling?

Also, Fiz offers to help Katy win Chesney back, but tells her it means making some sacrifices. Is Katy prepared to do whatever it takes?

Finally, Mary plans an Australian night at the Bistro

Anna is unnerved by Faye's insistence that she wants to live with her dad. She tries to explain to Tim that since he arrived on the scene, Faye's behaviour has deteriorated again.

Accepting that his presence has had a disruptive influence on Faye, Tim offers to move away from the street. But when Faye overhears this she goes ballistic, refusing to return home. At the end of her tether, how will a desperate Anna respond to Faye's threats?

Meanwhile, Eileen is furious that Paul is staying at Julie's, accusing her sister of siding with Paul. Realising he's coming between them, Paul returns to the Grimshaws' with some news for Eileen. But is it the lifeline she was hoping for?

Elsewhere, an emotional Dev questions Stella over her decision to take Karl back, resentful that they've got their happy ending. But when Sophie tells him to stop being horrible to the people who care about him, will Dev have a change of heart?

Also, Katy tells Ryan that she's quitting her job to focus on getting her family back on track and can't see him anymore. Will it have the desired effect on Chesney?

Finally, Mary's Australian night at the Bistro gets out of hand.

    Wednesday
Faye is still playing up and Anna tells Tim that for now it's best he has no contact with her.

Witnessing the exchange, Brian tries to talk to Faye at school, but when she claims that Anna hits her, Brian is aghast. With no choice, he calls social services. How will they react to Faye's allegations?

Meanwhile, Fiz sets Chesney up with Katy at the café, hoping it will force them to talk. Chesney is not happy about being tricked, but agrees to hear Katy out. As she apologises for having her head turned by Ryan, she insists it's Chesney she loves. Will Ches be able to forgive her?

Elsewhere, when the tickets arrive for a holiday Eileen and Paul booked months ago, she offers them to him. But due to start a new job, Paul suggests Eileen takes Julie instead.

Also today, after scattering Sunita's ashes, Dev admits that he has to focus on his kids now and tells Sophie he plans to look for a nanny so he can return to work.

Finally, Nick tells Mary that there will be no more theme nights at the Bistro

    Friday

Anna is beside herself, worried that she could lose Faye altogether. But when Faye is formally interviewed, she breaks down, admitting it was all lies and Anna has never hit her.

The social worker calls at Number 6 and tells Anna that Faye made the whole thing up hoping she could go to live with her dad. As a sheepish Faye arrives home, Anna wonders if it's time she admitted defeat!

Meanwhile, Beth and Kirk invite Chesney out for a drink along with Beth's niece, Sinead. Chesney is reluctant, but Beth has high hopes that Sinead and Chesney will become an item.

Elsewhere, having seen Dev's advert for a nanny, Mary applies for the job. Dev is not convinced but agrees to interview her.

Also, Gary insists on running Tina to the shops, even though it makes him late for work as a result.

Finally, Eileen's dreams of a relaxing holiday are shattered when Julie insists they book every excursion available

Owen is incredulous as Anna explains that she doesn't want Faye to grow up hating her, and if that means going to live with her dad, then so be it. Anna calls on Tim and proposes Faye moves in with him on a temporary basis if he's up to the job. Will Tim agree?

Faye is thrilled by Anna's change of heart, but when it comes down to it, will a broken Anna let her little girl go?

Meanwhile, Chesney and Sinead are getting on well, but when Katy arrives in the Bistro, the atmosphere is awkward and Katy leaves hurt. Seeing Katy heading home upset, Ryan suggests he takes her for a drink. Will Katy agree, or is it Chesney she wants a date with?

Elsewhere, Dev interviews Mary for the nanny job, but tells her she's unsuitable because of her lack of experience.

Also, Gary calls at Tina's flat, insisting he fits some new window locks for her. While he's there, Tina lets him feel the baby kick inside her. Gary is beyond excited, but when he tells Izzy that he felt their baby move, how will she react?

Finally, Eileen donates her holiday to a delighted Julie and Brian
