Corrie will have a schedule change in the week of the dramatic Rovers fire.

One of the year's biggest storylines kicks off on Monday, March 18 as the pub is set ablaze by an arsonist, but there will be no Friday night double bill that week.

The change is due to ITV showing England's World Cup qualifier against San Marino from 7.30pm on Friday, March 22.

Coronation Street's missed episodes are expected to be broadcast as an hour-long edition on Sunday, March 24, but the timeslot won't be confirmed until next week.

Coming up on Coronation Street, the residents gather for a Full Monty event at the Bistro - unaware that a night of terror is about to unfold on the cobbles.

Paul Kershaw (Tony Hirst) has organised the strip with his fellow firefighters to raise money for charity, but when all of his colleagues suddenly pull out due to food poisoning, Eileen sets about recruiting some local replacements.

Tommy Duckworth, Rob Donovan, Jason Grimshaw, Karl Munro and Doctor Carter all agree to get involved in the event, and there is a huge turn-out at the Bistro as the Rovers Return is closed due to a problem with the electrics.

    The lads entertain the audience.

However, as the lads get their strip under way and prepare to reveal all, Stella Price is one audience member who isn't in the mood and heads home early. As she relaxes in the bath, a fire takes hold in the cellar…

Coronation Street airs these scenes on Monday, March 18 at 8.30pm on ITV.

Corrie's Stella Price will see ex-partner Karl Munro in a whole new light after he saves her life in the upcoming Rovers Return fire.

Michelle Collins and John Michie, who play the former couple, were last week spotted filming a shock kissing scene on location - suggesting that they could reunite on screen within weeks.

The build-up to the possible reconciliation has now been revealed, with Corrie bosses confirming that Stella is saved by Karl when her pub goes up in flames next week.

With The Rovers closed due to an electrical fault, Stella is relaxing upstairs in the bath when the blaze begins.

Collins told itv.com: "The lights go out first of all, before she starts to see and smell smoke. At that point, I think she genuinely believes she's going to die. She tries to open the window, but it's jammed. She can't get down the stairs either."

Revealing how Karl comes to Stella's rescue, the actress continued: "He is her knight in shining armour! But then they start to think they're going to die together - there is that point where she just thinks: this is it."

When the pair defy the odds by managing to make it out alive, all previous animosity is forgotten as Stella is bowled over by Karl's actions.

Collins explained: "As far as she's concerned, he saved her life. There was always love there between them, but when he does this and nearly dies for her, it definitely brings them much closer together."

Stella's younger boyfriend Jason Grimshaw, meanwhile, finds himself under scrutiny as early investigations into the fire point to the electrical fault in the cellar. Jason and his employee Tim Metcalfe had worked on the issue a few days earlier.

Collins said: "Initially they do think it's Jason, and many people are pointing the finger at him, so it's difficult for Stella not to think it too."

Coronation Street airs the Rovers fire scenes on Monday, March 18 at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
