The tension between the two men escalates when Jack (Scott Maslen) loses patience over Phil's constant meddling in his relationship with Sharon Rickman.
Jack sparks the latest arguments by advising his girlfriend to quit working for Phil (Steve McFadden) at the R&R club, pointing out that she could have a better-paid position with less hassle elsewhere.
Phil soon secures the upper hand by offering Sharon (Letitia Dean) a stake in R&R, which convinces her to stay. However, when Jack hears her exciting news, he is furious.
Heading over to The Arches, Jack orders Phil to call off the deal with Sharon. A mischievous Phil refuses to do so, before provoking Jack so much that he loses his temper and punches his love rival.
