Yes, apparently he can't read very well
It's about time the actor got his own storyline. I'm a big fan of his.
The computer suggests words when you are looking for something/somebody which would make it easier

I know blind people have a facility to have text read back to them. Anyway why are we trying to rationalise something that is not rational. I remember the text from Faye too.

Anna Windass pledges her support to Tim Metcalfe next week after he confides in her about his reading difficulties.
Tim is forced to be honest with Anna (Debbie Rush) after he lands himself in a tricky situation which could expose his secret.
Anna's involvement in the story begins when she and Tim attend parents' evening together and are pleased to hear about the positive progress that Faye is making at school.
Caught up in the moment, Tim also makes the mistake of agreeing to run the school's Christmas auction, which will involve reading from a script.
Once they are alone, Tim tells Anna that he is illiterate and needs to find a way to get out of the auction.
Anna promises to do all she can to help Tim learn to read, but when she gives him a friendly hug and a suspicious Sally watches on

Coronation Street's Joe Duttine has revealed that viewers will be surprised by his character Tim Metcalfe after his daughter Faye Windass gives birth next week.
Faye (Ellie Leach) has been keeping her family in the dark ever since she discovered she was pregnant, but realises that she needs their support when she goes into labour early.
Speaking about the storyline on Good Morning Britain today (March 24), Duttine said: "Well Tim's not really equipped to deal with serious issues!
"So grilling Craig to find the truth is a real challenge for him and hopefully he'll think that the girls will take over and do it for him, and take all the responsibility away.
"I think you'll be surprised actually, because he doesn't get wrapped up in the whole drama of it all. New babies bring love and he just falls in love with this baby straight away, so he doesn't get wrapped up in all the politics that go with it - he just accepts that it's an issue that he has to deal with and gets on with it."

Duttine also admitted that Faye's situation will encourage Tim to act more responsibly as he throws himself into work in order to provide more money.
He explained: "[He'll] clean a few more windows and provide a bit more money! It encourages him to be more responsible, definitely."
Coronation Street airs Faye's birth on Wednesday, April 1 and Friday, April 3 on ITV.

The Sun reports that Tim will be delighted when Sally accepts his proposal and the pair soon set about making preparations to ensure it is an occasion to remember.
The couple's big day is set to be one of the biggest of the year, with Sally determined that it will be the topic of conversation for weeks to come.
Sally's former husband Kevin will also reportedly back her happy news, despite teasing Tim that he should have been asked permission first.
Sally has been in a relationship with Tim since last year. They have faced a turbulent time in recent months after Tim's 13-year old daughter Faye gave birth and Maddie Heath tragically died.
