Coronation Street's Sophie Webster finally makes a move on her physiotherapist Jenna Kamara in the New Year.

Sophie (Brooke Vincent) has developed strong feelings for Jenna in recent weeks, and she decides that it's time to take a more forward approach when she hears that their appointments will soon be coming to an end.

When Sophie has her back brace removed, Jenna (Krissi Bohn) explains that she'll only need a couple more physio sessions. However, Sophie is upset by the news as she'll no longer have a reason to spend time with her crush.

The situation comes to a head when Jenna pops round to the Webster house and Sophie speaks openly about her feelings for the first time, confessing that she has fancied Jenna for a while.

Jenna soon lets her guard down by hinting that she feels the same way, and when Sophie moves in for a kiss, she can't resist responding.

However, when Sophie's dad Kevin walks in and interrupts the pair, Jenna realises that she may have made a terrible mistake as the furious mechanic threatens to report this to her boss. Will Jenna find herself in trouble at work for her unprofessional behaviour?

    Monday

When Eva overhears Leanne telling Stella that she has re-booked the wedding and is just waiting for an answer from Nick, she enjoys stirring it by telling Peter about Leanne's plan.

Soon afterwards, Peter winds Nick up, telling him that he'll always be second best. Nick then flies into a rage, letting go of all the emotions he's been bottling up.

Meanwhile, Sophie has her back brace removed. She's thrilled until Jenna points out that she'll only need a couple more physio sessions. Upset at the thought of not seeing Jenna any more, Sophie decides to tell her how she feels. But does Jenna feel the same?

Elsewhere, at Lewis's suggestion, Gail calls in the bookies and gives Leanne a piece of her mind. Nick is annoyed with her constant interference.

Also, Sunita and Karl fail to live in domestic bliss as Karl refuses to pull his weight.

David tells Leanne that Nick and Peter had a fight and now Nick has shut himself in the Bistro. A concerned Leanne then goes to find him.

Nick pours his heart out to Leanne, telling her how much he loves her but how much she hurt him. Realising the depth of his pain and hating herself, Leanne comes to a shock decision…

Meanwhile, Kevin is furious with Jenna, believing she has abused Sophie's trust. Sophie tries to explain that she instigated their kiss, but Kevin refuses to listen and confronts Jenna, making a shock threat.

Elsewhere, Lewis pays Patrick for his part in the Italian hotel scam and tells him how he plans to ruin Gail's life.

Also, Sunita is furious to discover that Karl has done nothing again all day, while Tyrone finds it hard to maintain an enthusiastic façade regarding his upcoming wedding.

    Wednesday

As Leanne makes plans for her future, she tells Nick what she has decided.

Leanne is desperate not to hurt Nick anymore and intends to leave Weatherfield. However, as Nick opens his heart, will they find an alternative way forward?

Meanwhile, when Lloyd reveals how Kevin has reported Jenna to her boss, Sophie's furious. Is Jenna's career in jeopardy?

Elsewhere, Jason agrees to clear out the gutters at Number 7 for Sunita. However, while he's on the roof, Karl sees an opportunity to play a prank on Jason. Sunita is furious.

Also today, Lewis persuades Gail that he'd like to take things slowly in the physical sense, while Roy is thrilled when Hayley arrives back from Palm Springs.

    Friday

Kylie wonders why the milk tastes peculiar. Feeling off colour, she feigns illness and insists that David should leave her at home to rest.

Later, when Nick calls at Number 8 to talk to Kylie, she drops a bombshell. Ashen-faced, Kylie reveals she's pregnant!

Meanwhile, Karl wakes up with a hangover on Stella's sofa. He tells Stella how much he wishes they were still together. Stella, however, has no such regrets and tells Karl that she's glad he never read her text that night. Karl is bemused.

Elsewhere, at the last minute, Mary agrees to do the food at the Bistro that night. As she struggles to cope, Hayley persuades Roy to help Mary, keen to end their feud.

Also, Lloyd asks Sophie for her version of events regarding Jenna, Gail's interference in her sons' lives causes family ructions once more but Lewis encourages her to stand firm, while Leanne and Nick's news sends shockwaves through the street.

Kylie's news leaves Nick shellshocked. As he implores her to have an abortion, telling her they can't run the risk of the baby being his and not David's, Kylie feels sick with worry.

Confiding in Eva later, what will Kylie decide?

Meanwhile, Sunita confronts Karl about his night on Stella's sofa. She is surprised when he readily admits it, but when he tells her that he knows she deleted Stella's text all those months ago and lured him into her honeytrap, their relationship implodes!

Elsewhere, as Mary struggles at the Bistro, Roy arrives to the rescue. Mary is thrilled to see him, but will she and Roy be able to put their past differences behind them?

Also, Rob steps up his campaign against Carla, Lloyd confronts Jenna with Sophie's version of events, while Leanne and Nick's relationship takes another shock twist.

Coronation Street businessman Nick Tilsley reaches rock bottom and trashes the Bistro in tonight's (January 7) double bill of the soap.

Nick (Ben Price) is currently facing a life-changing decision after his on-off partner Leanne Barlow rebooked their wedding, hoping for a final chance with him.

When Eva Price shares this development with Peter, the bookie can't resist taunting Nick over the situation - reminding him that he'll always be Leanne's second choice.

After brawling with his long-time rival, Nick heads back to the Bistro and goes on the rampage. How will Leanne (Jane Danson) react when she sees how much hurt she has caused Nick?

Coronation Street's Kylie Platt confides in Eva Price over her pregnancy in Friday's (January 11) double bill of the soap.

In turmoil over what to do about the baby, Kylie (Paula Lane) explains the situation to her on-off friend - although she gives no hint that the unborn child may not be David's.

Eva (Catherine Tyldesley) encourages Kylie to go ahead with the pregnancy, but will she take notice of this advice?

Coronation Street businessman Nick Tilsley must make a final decision over whether he can forgive on-off partner Leanne Barlow this evening (January 9).

Nick (Ben Price) is left stunned when Leanne explains that she is moving away to Leeds to spare him any more heartache, but he initially seems to agree that it might be for the best.

Later, however, Nick comes to visit Leanne (Jane Danson) at The Rovers wanting another heart-to-heart - and it's clear that he doesn't really want her to go.

As Leanne admits that she hasn't yet cancelled their rebooked wedding, can she and Nick find an alternative way forward?

Coronation Street star Marc Baylis has revealed that he wants his character Rob Donovan to have a slow-burn impact on the cobbles.

The actor signed up for the part in May last year and was introduced on screen two months later. His current storyline sees Rob trying to steal away Underworld's clients after his sister Carla Connor (Alison King) sacked him from the factory.

Speaking on Daybreak this morning (January 9), Baylis praised Rob's development over the past few weeks.

Baylis commented: "He's really starting to come into his own. I'd rather it be that way as a process on the job myself - the slower that it unravels for me, the more interesting it gets to play.

"It feels that over the Christmas and New Year period, there's been a bit more interest in what's going on with the storyline, which is great."

Baylis also spoke further about Rob's upcoming romance with schemer Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford), hinting that it begins when she lands a job at the factory.

He said: "Kate's been an absolute dream to work with. It is slowly bubbling under the surface. I'm not going to give too much away, but it definitely rubs people up the wrong way that this is all going on. Especially because it all starts in the factory as well."

Meanwhile, asked how he is coping with recognition from Coronation Street fans, Baylis replied: "That is something that you just have to get on with. There are ways that you can cope with that.

"I'm not actively going out looking to be recognised. Life's too short - that's not the life that I want to live, to be honest. There's ways and means around it, and when it does happen, it's generally on a positive note anyway."

Coronation Street continues tonight (January 9) at 7.30pm on ITV1.
