EastEnders teenager Lola Pearce may be having second thoughts about Phil Mitchell's plans for her baby daughter Lexi as they head to court later this month.

The chances of Lexi being brought back to live on Albert Square rely mainly on Phil (Steve McFadden) in upcoming episodes after he calls off his fake engagement to Sharon Rickman.

Remaining committed to the cause, Phil arranges for a foster worker to visit him and Lola (Danielle Harold) so they can discuss a new care plan for Lexi. However, Lola is concerned that Phil seems to be making so many decisions without her.

On the day of the foster worker's visit, a troubled Lola bumps into Walford returnee Shirley Carter (Linda Henry), who warns that Phil could push her out of Lexi's life for good if she doesn't start standing up to him.

Shirley is still bitter towards Phil following their acrimonious break-up, but she adds that his involvement may be the price Lola has to pay if she wants to have any role at all in Lexi's upbringing.

As Shirley reflects on the important moments she missed in her own daughter Carly's life, it's clear that she is speaking from experience.

With a lot to consider, Lola attends the meeting with Phil and the foster worker as planned. The pair then head to court a few days later, with Sharon (Letitia Dean) also in attendance as she has told the authorities that she still wants to play a role in Lexi's life despite her 'split' from Phil.

As the court proceedings begin, Phil gives a heartfelt account of his past and what he wants for Lexi. However, when Lola takes the stand, she isn't sure what to say as she can't help but wonder whether she can honestly trust Phil. What will Lola do?

Coming up on EastEnders, Alfie Moon becomes paranoid as he fears that Kat is still cheating on him.

Alfie (Shane Richie) gets an unpleasant surprise in an upcoming episode when he finds that the ring which belonged to Kat's mother is back among his wife's belongings at The Vic.

Well aware that Kat (Jessie Wallace) wouldn't have had enough cash to buy the ring back from the pawn shop herself, Alfie suspects that this must be connected to her mystery lover. When he then asks Kat about the ring and she claims that it's still in the shop, Alfie is distraught that she is lying to him.

Turning detective, Alfie tries to find out whether Jean or Charlie have lent Kat the money. When it's clear that they haven't, Alfie tries a different tack by taking the ring along to the pawn shop and asking some questions.

Unfortunately for Alfie, the pawn shop owner refuses to give out any personal information about his customers, so it seems that the Queen Vic landlord will be left to stew over his suspicions…

EastEnders airs these scenes on Monday, December 10 at 8pm on BBC One.

EastEnders' fiery mum Bianca Butcher faces a new challenge at the salon later this month as one of her least favourite people becomes her next customer.

Still working for tips at Booty, Bianca (Patsy Palmer) is disappointed when market inspector Mr Lister turns up for a haircut.

Lister (Nick Wilton) is uneasy about letting Bianca loose on his hair after their previous clashes, but the pair strike up an unlikely bond when they share details about their respective family problems.

Pleased with the job that Bianca has done, Lister gives her a tip and decides that they can forget about the court order which bans her from working anywhere near the market.

Soon afterwards, however, a furious Lister returns to the salon and accuses Bianca of stealing from him as some of his money has gone missing. Unsurprisingly, it's an allegation that Bianca doesn't take kindly to…

EastEnders airs these scenes on Thursday, December 13 at 7.30pm on BBC One.

Alfie's suspicions are plaguing him more than ever before as he wonders how Kat could possibly afford to get her mother's ring back. Holding out some hope that this isn't connected to her mystery affair, Alfie asks Jean whether Kat has borrowed money from her. However, Alfie is left disappointed when Jean explains that Kat hasn't even asked her for cash. Jean suggests that Kat would probably ask Charlie for a loan, but Mo also debunks this theory by mentioning how broke Charlie is.

Taking matters into his own hands, Alfie visits the pawn shop to ask some questions, but the owner refuses to give out any personal information. Back at The Vic, Alfie puts the ring back where he found it, but casually asks Kat what happened to the receipt from the pawn shop. However, Alfie is crushed when Kat lies again, claiming that she threw the receipt away as she doesn't need the ring back.

Meanwhile, the foster worker is due back at the Mitchell house as Phil wants to discuss a new plan for Lexi, but Lola isn't pleased as she feels that he is making too many decisions without consulting her. Her frustrations intensify when she bumps into Shirley, who warns that Phil could push her out of Lexi's life if she doesn't stand up to him and fight for her daughter. When Lola turns up late for the meeting with the foster worker, she promises that she can be a good mum with Phil's help. When the foster worker leaves, Phil rebukes Lola for turning up late. However, Lola stands up to Phil by reminding him that Lexi is her daughter and things need to be on her terms, not his.

Elsewhere, a bored Zainab cheers up when Masood informs her that one of their friends' daughters will be staying with them while she meets her suitor. Zainab is thrilled as she thinks her status has risen considerably.

Also today, Ian shares some banter with Denise as he claims that the size of her fruit and veg at the Minute Mart breaks EU rules, Alfie hands Bianca some choirboy outfits to help the kids raise some cash for Christmas, Lauren is intrigued when Lucy mentions that Joey rejected her because he loves someone else, while Cora calls in reinforcements as she struggles to hold things together at the launderette.

    Tuesday

Alfie remains deeply paranoid over his fears that Kat is still having her affair, but he tries to focus on the last-minute preparations for the Christmas market. Kat can see how much he is struggling although she isn't sure why, so when Alfie snaps, all she can do is encourage him to have a rest. Soon afterwards, Alfie's fears grow when he sees Kat on the phone and is later unable to find her. He asks Kat for an explanation when she reappears, but isn't convinced by what she tells him.

Unsure of what to do, Alfie confides in Michael about his concerns but is shocked to realise that his cousin has known about the affair for quite some time. Alfie doesn't get the chance to quiz Michael further as Fatboy drags him outside, where Kat has arranged for everyone to be present to watch Alfie turn the Christmas lights on.

When Alfie looks at the top of the tree, he is surprised to spot a brand new star there. Kat explains that it wasn't easy, but she managed to get it for him. As Alfie turns the lights on, Kat expresses delight that everything is perfect - but Alfie knows deep down that things are far from perfect…

Meanwhile, Jack arrives home to find Sharon desperately searching the flat for her pills. When Jack confronts her, Sharon confesses that she just wants one tablet to calm her nerves ahead of Lola's court case. Jack lies that he got rid of the pills, so Sharon declares that she isn't prepared to be in another controlling relationship. As Jack finally hands the tablets over, he points out that he isn't trying to control Sharon but simply cares about her.

Later, when Derek pays a visit to Jack's place, he finds Sharon's pills on the table along with a written apology. Jack is then forced to reveal Sharon's secret to Derek. As Derek points out that Sharon's problem could jeopardise Lexi's case if anybody found out, Jack warns him to keep this to himself…

Elsewhere, Lauren is feeling more hopeful about Joey after Lucy told her that he is in love with someone else. However, Joey continues to snub Lauren, declining to join her at the Christmas lights switch-on and reminding her that they should stay away from each other. Lauren struggles to contain her emotions as she remains heartbroken.

Also today, Tanya snaps at Derek but soon regrets it as she knows he is holding all the cards, Max tells Derek that he is worried about Tanya's cancer scan tomorrow and adds that "the other lot" aren't making things easy for him at the moment, while Ian continues his rivalry with Denise but also sees her vulnerable side when she confesses that she feels lonely at Christmas.

    Thursday

Derek is in a smug mood after learning of Sharon's addiction to painkillers, and he can't resist sharing this information with Phil. Shocked and worried by what he is hearing, Phil confronts Sharon but she insists that she doesn't have a problem anymore. Later, when they arrive at court, Phil is genuinely concerned for Sharon's wellbeing but she maintains that she has everything under control. With his mind not completely at rest, Phil tells Jimmie that he doesn't want Sharon to be questioned today.

As the court proceedings begin, Phil gives a heartfelt account of his past and what he wants for Lexi. However, when Lola takes the stand, she isn't sure what to say as she can't help but wonder whether she can honestly trust Phil. What will Lola do? And what decision will be made over Lexi?

Meanwhile, Derek informs Max that their 'friends' have been in touch once again and they need more money. Needing to get the cash together quickly, Max is forced to tell Tanya that he can't join her at the hospital for her routine cancer scan. In the end, Max fails to raise the money needed, so Derek warns that 'they won't take it well'. However, Max doesn't care as he is more worried about Tanya.

At the same time, Lauren goes with Tanya to the hospital in Max's place. As they get talking about sisters and Tanya shares the constant concerns she has over Rainie, a guilty Lauren realises that Abi must feel the same way about her. Later, the Brannings receive some good news when Tanya's results come back all-clear.

Elsewhere, Bianca faces a fresh challenge at the salon when her latest customer is Mr Lister, who is uneasy about letting her loose on his hair. However, the pair strike up an unlikely bond when they share details about their respective family problems. Pleased with the job that Bianca has done, Lister gives her a tip and decides that they can forget about the court order which bans her from working anywhere near the market. Soon afterwards, though, a furious Lister returns to the salon and accuses Bianca of stealing from him as some of his money has gone missing. Unsurprisingly, it's an allegation that Bianca doesn't take kindly to.

Also today, Michael does all he can to avoid Alfie as he doesn't want to be questioned over Kat's affair, while Roxy realises that something is wrong and tells Alfie that he can always call her.

    Friday

Sharon is annoyed with Jack for revealing her painkiller addiction to Derek, while Jack isn't talking to his brother after his interference. Feeling snubbed by Jack, Derek decides to take over the role of Max's best man and starts to organise the stag party. Soon afterwards, Derek turns up at Tanya and Max's house with Alice's measurements for a dress, as he wants her to be a bridesmaid at the wedding. A reluctant Tanya says that she'll try to make this happen, but she isn't pleased when Derek announces that he is now best man.

Later, Tanya vents her frustrations to Max, who is also annoyed to hear that Derek is trying to take over everything. However, Tanya wonders whether she has done the right thing as she doesn't want Derek to tell Max the truth over the car crash. When Max tracks down Derek, he complains about his latest antics. However, Max is ultimately forced to agree to his demands when a threatening Derek points out that a little gratitude wouldn't go amiss after everything he is doing for Max.

Meanwhile, Kat informs Alfie that she is heading out Christmas shopping, but Alfie fears that she is lying yet again when he finds that she has left her purse behind. Soon afterwards, Alfie finally manages to speak to Michael and begs to know whether he is aware of who Kat was having the affair with. However, Michael insists that he doesn't know and Alfie should stop torturing himself. When Kat finally arrives back, Alfie questions how she managed to buy anything without her purse. However, his fears prove unfounded when Kat explains that Roxy lent her some money.

Elsewhere, Abi visits the launderette to tell Cora the good news about Tanya's scan. Abi realises that a distracted Cora still has Ava on her mind, so she encourages her gran to confide in her. Cora then starts to open up, admitting that she does care for Ava but isn't expecting her to get back in touch. However, it appears that Cora was wrong when Ava makes a surprise arrival at the launderette and hands her a Christmas card.

Some storyline details have been held back for this episode.
