Corrie Jennie McAlpine has admitted that she would be surprised to see a happy ending for her character Fiz Stape's new romance.

Fiz has fallen for Tyrone Dobbs in recent months, but the pair currently have most of the street against them thanks to the twisted lies of Tyrone's ex-fiancée Kirsty Soames (Natalie Gumede).

In an interview with TV Times, McAlpine explained that settling down as a happy family may not be on the cards for Fiz and Tyrone in the long-term.

"That would be lovely, but you can never settle in this job," the actress commented. "You've got to have a bit of conflict - that's what people tune in for. I think viewers are behind Fiz and Tyrone, but I can only see a rocky outcome.

"It's funny because everyone loves Tyrone, so if Fiz hurts him, they'll want to kill me! He'd better not upset Fiz, either, or there'll be trouble!"

She continued: "I think there might be a lot of crying on the horizon. They've got too many obstacles to overcome - and not just Kirsty. What if Cilla came back? And Chesney's not impressed either. Then there's Tyrone's mother. The list is endless!"

Alan Halsall, who plays Tyrone, added that his character's desperate desire for custody of his baby daughter Ruby could also prove problematic.

Tyrone tries to flee Weatherfield with Ruby next week, but his antics only make the situation worse.

Halsall said: "It would be nice for [Tyrone and Fiz] to have some stability. They've both got children and crave that settled family life. There's a genuine love there, but there's a huge stumbling block in their way. At the moment, Tyrone's priority is not Fiz - it's Ruby. She's his driving force."

Coronation Street continues tomorrow (February 1) at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.

Coronation Street's Fiz Stape will feel awful leaving her family when she goes on the run.

This Friday (February 8), Fiz and soulmate Tyrone Dobbs will make a last-minute dash from Weatherfield with their respective children Hope and Ruby.

Jennie McAlpine, who plays the unlucky-in-love resident, told itv.com: "Fiz is a very sensible person with her own child so she feels terrible deceiving her family. The way she does it is that she does it quickly like pulling a plaster off.

"She just goes home, packs and says, 'If we are doing it, we are doing it tonight'. She tells Chesney she is just moving into Tina's flat with Tyrone."

Kevin Webster makes amends for his affair with Tyrone's late wife Molly by helping him with his escape plan.

The car mechanic leaves the back door open as Ruby is being looked after at the Websters' while Kirsty enjoys an evening at the Rovers.

McAlpine recently predicted that Tyrone and Fiz's relationship can only lead to "a rocky outcome".

Coronation Street actress Jennie McAlpine has predicted a 'Free Deidre'-style campaign for Tyrone Dobbs.

The British public started a campaign to free the wrongly imprisoned Deirdre Rachid for fraud back in 1998, involving even the then Prime Minister Tony Blair.

If the innocent Tyrone (Alan Halsall) is found guilty of domestic violence against Kirsty, McAlpine believes Corrie fans may devise a similar scheme to get the much-loved character out of jail.

She told What's on TV: "It's one of those great stories where the viewer also knows he's innocent. Maybe there will be a 'Free Tyrone' campaign!"

McAlpine also spoke of Tyrone's honour in clearing Fiz of any wrongdoing after the pair are found having abducted Ruby.

"Tyrone tells the police Fiz had nothing to do with the abduction, even though she did agree to go along with it. But that's Tyrone through and through, he's selfless. The police let Fiz go but keep Tyrone."

Coronation Street actress Jennie McAlpine has revealed that she "hasn't got time for babies or marriage".

The 28-year-old star, who plays Fiz Stape in the soap, spoke to the Daily Record about her future with boyfriend of eight years Chris Farr.

She said: "I haven't got time - for babies or marriage. I don't like being the centre of attention so a big wedding isn't for me."

In the interview, McAlpine also spoke about the pair's joint venture - a restaurant in Manchester called Annies.

She described being co-owners of the establishment as "more of a commitment" to each other than tying the knot, adding: "It's been our dream since we met."

McAlpine and Farr got together in 2005 when they were introduced by mutual friend Antony Cotton - Sean Tully in Coronation Street.

On her current storyline with Alan Halsall, McAlpine spoke about Fiz and Tyrone going on the run to Wales with her daughter Hope and Tyrone's baby Ruby.

Subsequently, Ruby's mum Kirsty Soames (Natalie Gumede) publicly appeals for the return of her abducted child, leading to Tyrone's arrest.

McAlpine said: "It's like the Weatherfield One with Deirdre in the '90s. The audience knows that Tyrone is in the right, but the whole thing is a mess."

She also added that fans have "been great" about the tough storyline.

During the interview, McAlpine also revealed that her father had banned her from taking part in ITV reality series Dancing on Ice due to her clumsy disposition.

However, she showed support for friend and co-star Samia Ghadie, stating she was "dead chuffed" with Ghadie's performances on the show so far.

Coronation Street has filmed two different endings to Tyrone Dobbs's upcoming domestic violence trial.

Cast and crew have been working out on location for the dramatic court scenes, which will air on screen next month.

Tyrone (Alan Halsall) has a tough challenge ahead in the coming weeks as he battles to prove his innocence after his twisted ex-fiancée Kirsty Soames falsely accused him of domestic violence.

Fans will be glad to see that one possible outcome of the storyline involves Kirsty (Natalie Gumede) finally getting her comeuppance, as she is led away in handcuffs for lying to the jury.

Tyrone and his new girlfriend Fiz Stape (Jennie McAlpine) are seen celebrating outside the court as the truth is finally out.

However, another scene has been filmed providing a second possible ending to the trial - as Tyrone is seen wearing the cuffs after being found guilty.

Coronation Street bosses will be keeping quiet about which ending is the real one until the episodes air in March.

Filming two versions protects the secrecy surrounding the storyline, with show chiefs promising various twists and turns throughout the court case.

Viewers will see Tyrone sent to prison later this week as he awaits his trial, while his loved ones on the outside concentrate on the battle to clear his name.

Not sure how this works assuming it is Tyrone who is on trial. If he is found not guilty, there could be a prosecution of Kirsty for perjury but I don't see how she would be immediately led away in handcuffs. Perhaps someone with a better grasp of the law might answer this.....
