Crossroads legend Sue Hanson has signed up for a role in Coronation Street.
According to The Mirror, the actress - who played 'Miss' Diane Parker on the classic ITV soap - will be first seen on Corrie in mid-October.
Hanson will play a woman named Penny, but no more is known about the character at present.
The 69-year-old is only expected to stay on the Weatherfield serial for a short period.
Her arrival is to coincide with the temporary departure of Nigel Havers's character Lewis Archer, due to the actor's commitment to a Christmas pantomime.
Hanson starred in Midlands soap Crossroads between 1966 and 1987, being eventually killed off by a brain haemorrhage in the motel foyer.
