EastEnders businessman Ian Beale faces an impossible decision as his wedding day arrives later this month.

Ian (Adam Woodyatt) becomes determined to make a fresh start in the coming days, wanting to marry Mandy Salter (Nicola Stapleton) as soon as possible before moving his family away from Walford.

Albert Square's long-standing resident is so fixated on his plans that he refuses to cancel the wedding even after Mandy's mother Lorraine passes away, promising his fiancée that they'll have a magical day regardless of her sad news.

Lucy (Hetti Bywater) is furious that nothing seems to be stopping the wedding, so when the big day arrives, she causes more trouble by throwing away Mandy's wedding ring.

When a manic Ian discovers what Lucy has done, he demands that she gives him Cindy's ring instead. Ian then puts the ring on Mandy's finger, leaving his daughter appalled.

At the end of her tether, Lucy tries one last time to stop the wedding by giving her dad an ultimatum - choose her or Mandy. What will Ian decide?

    Monday

Ian is determined to get married by the end of the week and move the family away from Walford. Lucy is far from pleased over this, while Mandy also thinks he is rushing things - although she's won round when Ian hands her the money for a new wedding dress. When Lucy tells Phil what's going on, the hardman pays Ian a visit - warning him that he must stay in Walford so that everything appears normal. A nervous Ian agrees, but when Janine later reminds him of his loan repayments, he vows to go ahead with his plans to leave Albert Square.

Ian realises that Lucy must have spoken to Phil, so he summons both her and Mandy to the café to reveal that the move is still happening. Lucy then loses her temper by claiming that Ian is just trying to create a new version of Cindy. When Ian fires back by claiming that Lucy is a manipulative liar just like her mother, she reaches breaking point and starts cancelling the wedding behind her father's back…

Meanwhile, after receiving some words of advice from Christian, Roxy decides to move out of The Vic. At the same time, Alfie is feeling lonelier than ever following an argument with Kat on the phone. When Roxy tells Alfie that she's planning to move out, he takes her hand and tells her that he doesn't want her to leave. The pub boss then invites Roxy out for a curry later, saying that they can be lonely together. However, when Alfie is on his way to meet Roxy that evening, Jean informs him that Kat needs his company as she's missing him terribly. Alfie goes to visit his wife instead - while a heartbroken Roxy is left waiting for him at the Argee Bhajee.

Elsewhere, Tyler realises how territorial Derek can be over his possessions as they adjust to living under the same roof, Michael is left fearing that his scam could come to light when Jean decides to apply for a job with Janine, while Kim tries to enjoy a shared interest with Sasha after hearing that she's an amazing dancer - but she's forced to hide her horror from Ray when it becomes clear that the youngster has no rhythm whatsoever.
Roxy and Alfie have a heart to heart.

    Tuesday

As Lucy continues to secretly cancel all of Ian's wedding arrangements, Mandy begins to question why they are rushing into the ceremony. However, Ian can't be convinced to slow things down and launches a desperate bid to find bridesmaids and a best man. Ian makes a spectacle of himself by offering to pay Lauren and Whitney to be bridesmaids, before asking a surprised Fatboy to be his best man. When all three refuse to be involved and Derek and Jack start winding him up, Ian loses his temper and throws everyone out of the café.

Later, Max starts to feel sorry for Ian and offers to be his best man. At the same time, Mandy confides in Tanya by admitting that she still has reservations about marrying Ian - mainly because of the strained relationship she has with her mum Lorraine. Tanya advises Mandy to talk to her mum before starting her new life with Ian. As the day continues, Ian is shocked to learn that his wedding has been cancelled by 'Mandy Salter'. When Mandy returns home from the hospital, Ian confronts her over the cancellation. However, Mandy has other things on her mind - telling Ian that her mother has just died…

Meanwhile, Michael remains uneasy over the possibility of Jean working for Janine. Putting a plan into action, Michael causes Jean to miss her interview with Billy by bombarding her with details about her investment at the boxing club and how much it's helping the local community. Michael is pleased that his plan has worked, but he's taken aback when Jean confides in him - admitting that she still talks to Sean's photo. As Michael reveals his own pain over his mother's death, Jean hugs him. Will Michael start to feel guilty?

Elsewhere, Kim is compelled to tell Ray the truth about Sasha's 'talent', but the tense conversation ends up with the couple revealing their true feelings for each other.

    Thursday

Ian shocks Lucy and Mandy by insisting that the wedding is going ahead regardless of Lorraine's death. He continues to make arrangements for the big day with help from best man Max, but there's a setback when Max points out that Ian's credit card is being rejected. Ian makes up the excuse that it's because he has paid for Lorraine's funeral, before asking Max to lend him some money. Soon afterwards, Phil pays a visit to Max to find out what Ian has been saying. Learning that Ian is broke and that Max appears to be a stabilising influence, Phil hands Max some money to give to Ian and promises to arrange the car.

Later, Phil warns Ian that he won't let him do a runner from Walford. When Ian suggests that Phil and Ben should start worrying about each other rather than him, the Walford hardman loses his temper by pushing Ian down an alley and warning him to keep his mouth shut. As the day continues, Mandy is having cold feet about the wedding and she's shocked to hear from Max that Ian has arranged Lorraine's funeral. Mandy makes it clear to Ian that she's livid, but she's soon won round by her fiancé once again. Furious that the wedding is still on, Lucy vows that she won't let it happen - but Mandy warns her that there's nothing she can do to stop it…

Meanwhile, Tyler asks Derek for some space as he'll be cooking Whitney a romantic meal this evening. However, Derek offers to step in and help Tyler with the cooking. The pair soon strike up an unlikely bond and Tyler is later surprised to realise that Derek's 'plans' for the evening are made up. A sympathetic Tyler invites Derek to eat with them, but Derek can sense that Whitney is appalled by this and heads out for a pint instead.

Elsewhere, Janine wants Whitney to be a live-in nanny once the baby arrives, but Michael suggests that he should move in instead. Later, Michael's plans backfire when Billy offers Jean the job at Butcher's Joints.
Phil loses his temper with Ian.

    Friday

It's the morning of Ian and Mandy's wedding, but Lucy is still determined to ruin the big day and throws the bride-to-be's wedding ring down the drain. Ian is frantic when he realises that it's missing, but he's distracted when Janine pays him a visit and demands that he repays his loan by the end of the day.

Janine insists that Ian can afford to pay him back as she has seen an expensive wedding car outside. Ian is surprised as he doesn't know anything about this, and he's shocked when he later learns that Phil booked the Rolls Royce which is parked on the Square. Fearing this is a plot from Phil to get rid of him once and for all, Ian tells Max that he wants him to drive them to the registry office instead.

Back home, Ian confronts Lucy as he knows that she is responsible for the missing wedding ring. He then demands that she gives him Cindy's wedding ring as a replacement. As Ian rifles through Lucy's personal belongings, she begs him to realise that Mandy will destroy him, but he refuses to listen.

With Mandy watching on, Lucy issues a final ultimatum to her father - he must choose between his daughter and his fiancée. A surprised Mandy then gets in on the act by pushing Ian for a decision. Who will Ian choose - Lucy or Mandy?

EastEnders' Roxy Mitchell faces fresh heartbreak next week as she continues to harbour feelings for Alfie Moon.

Roxy (Rita Simons) decides that it's time to move out of the Queen Vic in the coming days following some wise words of advice from best friend Christian Clarke. However, she is given fresh hope when a lonely Alfie (Shane Richie) tells her that he doesn't want her to leave.

The pair share a moment as they chat at the antiques emporium before Alfie suggests that they should meet for a curry later, which will allow them to "be lonely together".

Roxy is excited about spending more time with Alfie and won't listen when a sceptical Christian warns that the pub boss doesn't love her. Instead, Roxy insists that there is definitely something between them.

At the same time, however, Alfie has been arguing with Kat over the phone and Jean intervenes by letting Alfie know that his wife misses him terribly.

Realising that Kat needs him, Alfie decides to put his partner first and heads off to visit her - while a snubbed Roxy is left waiting alone at the Argee Bhajee. Will she realise that Christian was right all along?

EastEnders airs these scenes on Monday, May 21 at 8pm on BBC One.
