    Lap top key board issues

    Hi i am using my old lap top for this... my other lap top is newer, but the keyboard is acting up, instead of typing words, it skips letters in the middle of a word, deletes, etc,,nothing was spilled in it..no virus found. what to do ??? Need some help. it is a Toshiba Satelite L505D-S5965

    You are probably touching the touchpad as you type. Try disabling it and see what happens. Connect a mouse first though

    where do I disable the touch pad,,i only use a mouse ....

    Apparently, Fn+F9 disables the touchpad on Toshiba laptops.

    Fn ??? I can not type without going back cos the cursor jumps in the middle of a word..its driving me crazy

    The function key is key labelled Fn and should be somewhere near the Ctrl key. I don't have a Toshiba so I don't know for sure.

    Have you got insert switched on? It can sometimes cause the cursor to jump around. On the top right of your keyboard there is a key with INS on. Try pressing that and see if things change. If not, plug a USB keyboard in and try typing. That will tell you if the problem is with your laptop keyboard input or mousepad, or if it is a problem with your laptop itself.

    The Fn key is between ctrl and the windows key on the bottom left. I think I have the same model as you but no problems with typing.
