EastEnders' Jack Branning has an angry showdown with his older brother Derek later this month after hearing that Roxy has gone missing.

Tension between the Brannings and the Mitchells has been at fever pitch in recent weeks, so when Jack hears that nobody knows where Roxy (Rita Simons) is, he worries that Derek could have something to do with it.

Full of rage, Jack (Scott Maslen) immediately confronts bad boy Derek (Jamie Foreman) - pushing him up against the wall and launching into a rant.

Jack tells Derek that, despite his recent custody battle with Roxy, this isn't what he wanted - adding that he's nothing like his older brother.

However, a smug Derek tries to get the last word, telling Jack that his aggressive reaction shows they're not so dissimilar after all. Is Jack right to be suspicious of Derek?

    Monday

Derek tries to intervene in defence of his brother when he spots an awkward exchange between Jack and Roxy over Amy, but Roxy has Shirley's support and the pair leave Derek humiliated. Derek is furious over this and vows privately that he won't let Roxy and Shirley destroy his family. He then starts looking for photographs of Roxy within Jack's belongings, but struggles to find what he needs.

At the same time, Alfie is already growing tired of his arrangement with Derek over the dodgy booze. Alfie wants to double-cross Derek by cutting out the middle man and going straight to the supplier, so Roxy offers to help by finding out who Derek's contact is. During an argument with Derek at The Vic, Roxy gets what she wants by secretly stealing the bad boy's mobile.

However, Derek is also plotting against Roxy and now has a print-out of her face - obtained via the CCTV at the club. Showing the picture to Jack back at the flat, Derek darkly suggests that 'accidents can happen'. Jack is stunned by what Derek is inferring and throws the picture away, but once alone, Derek retrieves the photo…

Meanwhile, Whitney wants to make amends for hurting Fat Boy, so she convinces Janine to give him a regular DJ slot at the R&R. Fat Boy isn't pleased when he finds out that he's only getting the opportunity thanks to Whitney, so he calls off his first gig that night. However, Whitney, Tyler, Lauren and Lucy proceed to drum up a huge amount of custom for the club event, before dragging Fat Boy there. Thrilled by the efforts of his friends, Fat Boy goes ahead with the job, but he remains heartbroken when he sees Tyler and Whitney kissing.

Elsewhere, Syed is furious when Amira asks Anthony to help at the new market stall in return for a cut of the profits, while Tamwar hires Fat Boy as a waiter at the restaurant.

    Tuesday

Derek continues with his interfering ways as he tells Jack that Roxy is shutting him out from having a relationship with his daughter. Derek then confesses that he has a daughter of his own named Chrissy, but doesn't have a relationship with her. Soon afterwards, Jack follows as Derek heads out to show him Chrissy, pointing out a girl in school uniform. Derek explains that Chrissy has no idea of who her father is, and he doesn't want the same thing to happen between Jack and Amy.

Later, Derek disappears with the photo of Roxy, who is busy making plans after stealing Derek's mobile. Roxy listens to a voicemail on Derek's phone which reveals details of an extra delivery tomorrow morning, and then vows to intercept it. Towards the end of the day, as she heads home, Roxy is being watched from the shadows…

Meanwhile, Rose reads yet another letter from her admirer, but Dot is appalled by its steamy contents. Later, Cora and Dot decide to find out what is going on once and for all, so they manage to get rid of Rose for the evening and snoop through her things once she's gone. In doing so, they manage to find out the identity of the mystery man. Who is it?

Elsewhere, Anthony's attempts to move on his relationship with Amira are declined, while Fat Boy is delighted when Janine confirms that he can have a weekly club night.

    Thursday

Derek has recruited a man named Andy to carry out the hit on Roxy. As they meet up to discuss the plan, Derek makes it clear that it should go no further than putting the frighteners on Roxy. Soon afterwards, Andy is about to grab Roxy when he spots her intercepting the booze delivery with Alfie and Billy as accomplices. As the trio take the alcohol to The Vic, Roxy is delighted at the thought that they'll soon be charging Derek to drink his own booze.

Later, Derek calls off the hit on Roxy and asks Andy to instead concentrate on what has happened to his missing booze. However, Andy knows the answer straight away and reveals all to Derek, who then visits The Vic to confront the schemers. When Roxy takes the blame and protests Alfie's innocence, Derek threatens her and warns that he wants the booze he's paid for. As the day continues, Jack makes it clear to Derek that nothing bad must happen to Roxy. However, Derek wants revenge against Roxy and secretly arranges for the hit to go ahead as planned. What will happen when Roxy then answers her door to Andy?

Meanwhile, Dot is still in shock after the revelation that Rose has been exchanging love letters with a convicted murderer. When Rose asks Fat Boy to post her latest letter, Dot steals it and writes her own as a replacement - urging Rose's admirer to reject the temptations of the flesh and repent. Later, Fat Boy reads Rose's original letter and notices that she has been using a PO Box address and a fake name. He's immediately horrified to realise that he and Dot have sent off Rose's real name and address to the murderer!

Elsewhere, Anthony and Tyler settle their differences, while Abi confides in Tanya by telling her that she's not yet ready for sex but Jay is fine with that.

    Friday

Jack pays a visit to the Mitchells' house, but Shirley tells him that Roxy didn't come home last night. When Derek is confronted by Jack, he confesses that he couldn't resist the opportunity to scare Roxy, but starts to worry himself after hearing that Roxy is missing. Later, Jack shares his fears with Max and the conversation moves on to how he doesn't want his relationship with Amy to be like Derek and Chrissy's. However, Max drops the bombshell that Derek doesn't have a daughter named Chrissy!

When Derek realises that his lie from earlier in the week has been busted, he refuses to apologise and insists that it's just his way of doing things. Jack then angrily pushes Derek against the wall, before continuing his search for Roxy.

Meanwhile, Tanya resolves to get her sex life with Max back on track by arranging to spend a passionate afternoon with him. However, when Tanya kisses Max, she can't bring herself to take things any further - which results in a frustrated Max snapping at her.

Elsewhere, Heather fears the worst when Andrew accidentally sees her in her wedding dress. The caterer and the cake-maker both suddenly drop out, leaving her worrying about superstitions. Later, when Andrew questions Shirley's presence in their lives, Heather insists that she will always be her best friend.

Also today, Amira is touched when Anthony surprises her with a home-cooked meal.

EastEnders star Scott Maslen has teased details of his character Jack Branning's clash with evil brother Derek.

Next week, dastardly Derek (Jamie Foreman) hires a hitman to terrorise Roxy Mitchell (Rita Simons), the mother of Jack's young daughter Amy - hoping to frighten her following their recent clashes.

Maslen told Inside Soap: "Jack's absolutely sickened when he discovers what Derek is planning.

"Jack may have used underhand tactics in the past to try and get custody of Amy, but this is taking things much too far. Jack would never forgive himself if anything bad happened to Roxy."

He elaborated: "The first Jack knows of this is when he calls round to the Mitchells' and Shirley tells him that Roxy didn't come home the night before.

"Jack's furious with Derek and also sick to his stomach at the thought something terrible could have happened to Roxy. He storms straight round to confront his brother - he just wants confirmation from Derek that Roxy is alive and well."
