Given Ken's loooong history of womanising, and the fact he and Deirdre barely spent any time together in the last couple of years of her life, I don't see any problem with him getting together with Audrey fairly quickly. I've heard of several widowed people who've lost spouses of many years marrying again rapidly because they can't bear to be alone.

I don't think being elderly necessarily has much to do with it either. Even if the body ails, many people still crave love and intimacy whatever their age. However, I do agree with MM that the presumably much younger Nessa panting after Ken is a bit far-fetched!

To me, Roy finding a new partner is much more unbelievable. I think he'd have spent the rest of his life alone in reality, although I'm happy to see him with Cathy because I don't want to watch him being lonely.

I know that some who have lost a partner through either death or just splitting up to go a bit wild with looking for new relationships, probably to deaden the pain of having lost their partner or some do it to feel that they are still attractive to the opposite sex .. or same sex, if they are gay. A lot of the time I can imagine is for companionship rather than romance .. was hoping that would be what they intend for Ken to happen but if Audrey starts feeling smitten and now Nessa I dare say it will be more than that .. shame

Deidre was out of the street for months, and he was left to cope with the family, so in one way, he was already living without her, and as they both had extra marital affairs, it was hardly a "love affair", I'm not a bit surprised he is moving on, he's that type of egotistical man

Can't believe how quickly Ken settled for Nessa he should have continued to focus his attentions on Audrey. He could not have cared enough and took the easier option...basically the first woman to give him attention

I think Ken and Audrey are destined to have a relationship. It was going to start back when Ken tried to get Audrey to read Anna Karenina, but they put a hold on the storyline due to Anne Kirkbride's death.

It might have been foretold by that architect

Destiny - thought she would have more sense.!

Have to see what new producer makes of it.
Though I stick to my position that Audrey
