Audrey quits the salon
Corrie's Audrey Roberts is selling her hair salon after seven years. But don't fret - actress Sue Nicholls, who plays the soap crimper, will not be leaving the show. A soap mole revealed: "People started to ask questions when they read the scripts, but were quickly assured the storyline had nothing to do with Sue's character being written out. She's so popular with the viewers that they have to keep her."

Audrey decides to sell up after seeing old friend Mike Baldwin begin to lose his mind under the strain of running his clothing business for too long (or is he just struggling under the weight of that quiff?). Her devastated granddaughter Sarah fears for her job when Audrey says she'll sell to the highest bidder. And Maria, who served her apprenticeship under Audrey, soon becomes frontrunner after telling brother Kirk to buy her half of the family kennel business so she can use it as a deposit.
