    Monday

Shirley's concern over the stalker situation grows when she arrives back at the house to find the front door wide open, even though nobody is home. She soon suggests to Phil that they should get on better terms with people by throwing a Christmas party for the neighbours. Phil isn't keen, but Shirley goes ahead with the idea and orders Kat to shut The Vic for the evening to make sure that they get a decent number of guests.

Later, as the party gets under way, Shirley informs Phil that she has an ulterior motive for the celebration - she believes having everyone gathered together will help the pair of them to figure out who the stalker is. However, Ian, Jack and Derek all realise what the couple's plan is, so they wind Phil up by lining up one-by-one to confess to being the stalker. Phil is left furious over their attempts to bamboozle him. Soon afterwards, events take a serious turn when Heather suddenly needs her inhaler. As Phil and Shirley try to find it, they're shocked when they discover that Heather's handbag contains a stash of envelopes identical to the ones that Phil has been receiving…

Meanwhile, Max is going all-out with Christmas decorations at the Branning house. Tanya, who is starting to look increasingly ill, asks Max why he's putting so much effort into Christmas and wonders whether he fears it could be her last. However, Max assures her that this isn't the case and the pair resolve to be honest about their feelings from now on.

Elsewhere, Lola encourages Billy to stand up to Phil after he took the blame over the stolen goods, while Jean is confronted by a benefit fraud officer and discovers that Mo has been claiming benefits using her name.

    Tuesday

Phil is keen to confront Heather after the envelopes were found in her handbag, but Shirley vows to takes control of the situation herself. Shirley accuses her best friend of sending the letters to Phil, but Heather insists that she doesn't know anything about the situation. Phil and Shirley soon come to the conclusion that the envelopes must have been planted on Heather by the real culprit. When Roxy claims that Jack was watching Shirley accuse Heather and 'lapping it up', Phil decides that Jack must be the stalker, so he has Jack's car crushed into a big ball of steel as an act of revenge.

At the same time, Andrew Cotton turns up in the Square, hoping to speak to Heather and apologise for what happened in Southend. He soon makes it clear that he has little interest in seeing Rose when he claims that he doesn't have time for a day out with her and Dot. When Andrew hears Shirley shouting at Heather, he stands up for her and later starts quizzing Fatboy about Heather's love life.

Meanwhile, there's a positive atmosphere at Pat's house as Ricky is due to arrive home. Pat is close to losing her house after defaulting on her loan payments, so she hopes Ricky's bonus money will be enough to salvage the situation. When Ricky does arrive back, he is surprised to see Mandy and catches up with her at the café, telling her that he's in turmoil after losing all his money in Dubai. Later, Pat realises that Ricky won't be the saving grace she hoped for.

Elsewhere, Jean is upset about being branded a benefits cheat but agrees to cover for Mo, while Lauren kisses Tyler under the mistletoe at The Vic.

    Thursday

Pat and her loved ones worry as they know that the bailiffs could arrive at any moment. Ricky realises that he'll have to tell Bianca what has happened, so he goes to visit her in prison. Bianca is pleased to see him but she's soon furious when Ricky explains that he has come home with less money than he went away with. As the pair argue, Bianca tells Ricky that she hates him and wants him to leave.

Later, Ricky spends the afternoon with Mandy in the allotments, where they share a bottle of wine. Wanting to spice things up, Mandy rushes off and returns with a bag of pills. When the pair share a pill, Ricky becomes breathless, so Mandy has to rush him to hospital. However, it turns out that Ricky only had a panic attack, so he is discharged with a leaflet on drug abuse. Ricky and Mandy later return to the allotments to collect their belongings and they soon give into temptation by sharing a kiss.

Meanwhile, Roxy is excited as she prepares for a visit from Amy, but Jack spitefully reveals that he has lied to the social worker to cancel the visit - falsely claiming that Amy is ill. Later, Roxy informs Jack that Ronnie has filed for divorce and asks whether she can take Amy for a walk while he takes in the news, but he kicks her out. With the tension between the Mitchells and Brannings escalating, Derek clashes with Phil and warns that if he's going to take on Jack, he'll be taking on him as well.

Elsewhere, Pat reminisces over a trip to Clacton and decides to take the family there on a day trip tomorrow, while Fatboy presents Whitney with a car as her birthday present, but she's unimpressed when she sees stickers saying 'Fats' and 'Whit' on the windscreen and declares that she doesn't want to be owned.

    Friday

Pat takes the family for the day out in Clacton as planned, but Ricky seems distracted as he worries about cheating on Bianca with Mandy. However, Pat presumes that it's the financial problems playing on his mind. Ricky comes close to telling Pat about his infidelity, but ultimately keeps it to himself. As Pat reminisces over the times she spent in Clacton when she was younger, a surly Liam refuses to have a good time and blames Ricky for the financial mess that the family is in.

Later, when the family arrive back on the Square, Pat pays a secret visit to Janine and asks her for the money to save the house. Sensing how desperate Pat is, Janine agrees to loan her the money. Pat is grateful to Janine for helping her out, but she soon receives a shock when the schemer asks for the house as security.

Meanwhile, Yusef continues his attempts to control Zainab as he takes her mobile phone away from her. Later, after Zainab has been in an argument with Masood and Jane, Yusef suggests that Zainab should just give Kamil to Masood as that will stop him from breathing down their necks so much. Zainab slaps Yusef when he declares that Kamil will only ever be an outcast to him, but he hits her back and menacingly warns Zainab never to raise her hand to him again. Later, Zainab realises that she needs to get away from evil Yusef and decides to run away, but will she be able to make her escape?

Elsewhere, tension runs high as Jane, Masood, Ian and Mandy have a double dinner date.

EastEnders' Ricky Butcher is in turmoil as he returns to Walford earlier than expected in tonight's episode of the soap.

Pat (Pam St Clement), Carol (Lindsey Coulson) and the kids are delighted this evening when they receive a message from Ricky which reveals that he will soon be home from Dubai.

Believing that Ricky's end-of-contract bonus money will be enough to pay the loan company and keep hold of the house, his loved ones breathe a huge sigh of relief before preparing a big celebration for his return.

However, when a troubled Ricky (Sid Owen) arrives back on the Square, he sees Mandy (Nicola Stapleton) and confides in her - confessing that he has returned home penniless following a huge mistake. How will he break the news to his family?

EastEnders airs tonight at 7.30pm on BBC One.
