Coronation Street will welcome a familiar soap face in upcoming scenes.

Fans of Hollyoaks will recognise Nicole Barber-Lane from her time in Chester as Myra McQueen, a character she played between 2006 and 2019.

Barber-Lane is now headed to Weatherfield, where she is due to appear in a three-episode arc for the time being. Digital Spy can confirm that Barber-Lane's character Ange is the boss of a cab firm, who wants to use Websters' Autos and make the most of the garage.

In an Instagram post where she poses on the cobbles, the actress confirmed she will appear on Corrie in late September.

"Such a pleasure to do a little cameo... look out for Ange in last week in September," Barber-Lane wrote.

The soap star had an on-again, off-again 13-year-long stint on Hollyoaks, originally having been introduced as a secondary character.

Part of the McQueen family, Myra's a no-nonsense, strong woman who often puts her children and loved ones first. The character has had her fair share of dramatic occurrences, including faking her own death after being shot, which led to her first break from the soap in 2013.

Myra returned in January and then September of the following year, finally reappearing in a more regular capacity from 2015. Back then, her storylines mostly revolved around her romance with Diego Salvador Martinez Hernandez De La Cruz, played by Juan Pablo Yepez. Their relationship ended when Diego cheated on Myra after she got pregnant with her eighth child.

Later on, Myra's backstory was explored through the introduction of trans woman Sally St Claire, portrayed by Annie Wallace.

Prior to her transition, Sally and Myra had a child, John Paul McQueen. With Sally joining the soap, Myra was given a new love interest, but she ended up leaving Chester again after their relationship broke down.

Now, John Paul is at the centre of a year-long story revolving around a homophobic attack.
