Deadly storm to hit Summer Bay

Home and Away star Rhiannon Fish has confirmed that a deadly storm is to hit Summer Bay later this year.

The actress, who plays April Scott on the show, explained that the cast and crew have already filmed the natural disaster storyline, which is expected to air on screen later this year.

"I didn't have a big role in the storm sequence, which I was grateful for because it was full-on," Fish told TV Week.

"The few scenes that I did have, we had a huge wind machine and a rain machine - and it looks amazing."

She continued: "I can't wait for the audience to see it. Filming it, you did feel like you were inside a storm."

Home and Away's series producer Cameron Welsh previously confirmed plans for a big disaster storyline in an interview with Digital Spy.

Speaking last month, he commented: "The biggest stunt/disaster storyline that we have ever undertaken is in the final stages of post-production. It's coming very soon…"

I love H&W for this... if they run out of plot stories or need to get rid of a few people they have a storm or a bush fire or a mudslide.. maybe the riot in london should extend to EE to get rid of some people there?

Home and Away star Ada Nicodemou has revealed that the soap's forthcoming storm storyline will result in a death.

As previously reported, episodes which air in Australia next week see some extreme weather put lives on the line in Summer Bay. Show bosses are billing the storyline as the biggest disaster plot in the programme's history.

Speaking to TV Week about the dramatic episodes, Nicodemou confirmed: "There's actually someone who dies at the end of the storm, but I'm not going to give that away. But someone doesn't make it through."

Nicodemou also explained that her character Leah Patterson-Baker will find herself trapped in the Diner during the storm, leaving her frantic with worry over the whereabouts of her son VJ (Felix Dean).

When she finally learns that VJ is safe, the pregnant chef suffers another scare as she starts bleeding.

"She's been feeling a bit under the weather, which I think is caused by stress," Nicodemou said. "But then she notices she's bleeding and thinks she's miscarried."

Home and Away's storm disaster will air on Channel 5 in the UK later this year.
