Coming up in Emmerdale, Charity's ill-fated stint working behind the bar at The Woolpack comes to an abrupt end after Diane grows tired of her behaviour.

Turning up late for work and slacking off at any opportunity, Charity is proving to be a nightmare employee and Diane gets frustrated when it seems that Chas isn't taking the issue seriously enough.

When Charity refuses to pull her weight by doing the dishes, Diane orders her out the back for a word. Prompted by Diane, Chas then makes the difficult decision to sack Charity.

Following her firing, Charity realises that she needs to give the factory her full attention, so she tells Jai and Nikhil that they'll have to give her a managerial position at Sharma & Sharma. Could Charity's demand cause fresh tension between the two brothers?

Alicia realises that Andy's still annoyed at her for announcing their possible move to Spain and promises to keep quiet from now on. At the same time, David assures Leyla that Alicia will have forgotten about Spain in a week, but Leyla's silent when Alicia tells her that she's thinking of Jacob's future.

Later, David comforts a tearful Leyla, who reluctantly promises to try and stay out of Alicia and Jacob's business.

Meanwhile, Charity's hacked off about having to work again and starts to bicker with Alicia. Later, Charity suggests to Chas that they should have a few drinks in the pub after work with Ella, Katie and Gennie. Thinking Charity's in the cellar, Alicia locks the door and is amused when she hears banging. Horrified when Charity tells her that Diane's down there, Alicia lets her out and Diane has a go at the two of them for behaving like children.

At their lock-in, Ella leaves early while a fuming Diane comes downstairs and catches the others. Chas arrives and the girls apologetically disperse. Charity grudgingly agrees to tidy up, but Diane's unsure whether Chas is taking her issues with Charity seriously.

Elsewhere, Gennie is appalled by Nikhil's aggressive techniques when he interviews Holly for a position at the factory; Charity's unimpressed when Jai tells Ella that she can stay for as long as she needs; and Ella feels terrible when Mia tells her that despite everything, she's still her mum and she'll never abandon her.

Alicia is unwilling to talk to Leyla about Spain again. She tells Andy that she knows Leyla will try to sabotage their move, but she's determined not to let her. Alicia and Andy are pleased that Jacob is excited when they tell him their plans, but Leyla's horrified to realise Alicia means business.

Sceptical of Leyla's motives in questioning whether emigrating would put a strain on her relationship with Andy, Alicia tells Leyla that there's nothing she can do to stop them going.

Meanwhile, realising Diane is reaching the end of her tether, Chas agrees to have a word when Charity is late for her shift. Diane's exasperated when Charity finally arrives and immediately heads through to the back to have a coffee with Chas. However, Charity strops through to the bar when Chas supports Diane and tells her to pull her finger out.

When Charity refuses to do the dishes, Diane orders her through to the back for a word. Prompted by Diane, Chas sacks Charity. Jai and Nikhil are later unnerved when Charity tells them they have to give her a management role in the factory.

Elsewhere, Gennie and Nikhil clash over his treatment of Holly when he vows to dock the teen's wages for being late on her first day; Debbie is supportive when Andy tells her that he and Alicia are considering moving to Spain; and Rodney's unimpressed that Nicola is ensuring Jimmy sees as little of Angelica as possible.

Alicia warns Leyla not to tell Justin about the move when Leyla suggests that she should inform him what she's planning. David's worried about how Leyla will react when he hears Alicia announce that she and Andy are going to Spain for a property hunt and brings her a bouquet of flowers as he breaks the news.

Later, David feels sidelined when Leyla tells Alicia that they will want her and Jacob to continue living with them even after they're married. Returning from a run, he's stunned to hear Leyla promise Jacob that he can always come and live with her if he doesn't like Spain…

Meanwhile, irritated by Jimmy's complaining, Carl tells him to just pick Angelica up from playgroup in the afternoon and take her to the swings. Carl's chuffed when Jimmy takes his advice.

Later, Nicola furiously confronts Jimmy when she finds him feeding Angelica and tries to force the nursery assistant to refuse to let Jimmy collect Angelica. She promises to take it further when the assistant refuses to get involved. However, Rodney's frustrated that Nicola refuses to see sense.

Elsewhere, Nikhil seems crushed when Gennie rejects his gift of a cake to say sorry; Andy apologises to Debbie as Alicia tries to get Sarah excited about going on holiday to Spain without asking Debbie's permission first; while Ella and Charity have a faux-friendly discussion about getting their claws into men.

When Nikhil tells Jai that he's taking Gennie out of work for the morning, Charity offers herself as the replacement PA in Gennie's absence. Returning from picking up his new company car, Nikhil's furious to find Charity at his desk, especially when she tells him that she's persuaded a client to increase their order.

Jai tells Nikhil to calm down and Charity leads all of the workers outside to see Nikhil's new car. He's humiliated when she jokes that he's still unsuccessful with the ladies despite the car when Gennie turns down his offer to go for a spin with him. Wound up, Nikhil tells Jai he needs to choose between him and Charity at the factory.

Meanwhile, David's uneasy when he hears Leyla reiterate her promise to Jacob that he can live with her if he doesn't like Spain. Leyla tells him that they can't sit by and watch Alicia ruin Jacob's life. Put out when Alicia lies that Jacob's school doesn't have a problem with him taking leave in term time to go to Spain, Leyla questions what Justin would say if he knew. However, Alicia's furious and warns Leyla to keep out of it.

Later, Andy disapproves when Alicia tells him that she wasn't planning on telling Justin about the holiday. Still determined to go as planned, Alicia admits to Andy that the school didn't really agree that Jacob could be taken away in term time.

Elsewhere, Angelica falls off a swing and cuts her head after Rodney lets Jimmy spend more time with her in secret, while Holly realises that Lizzie's sceptical of her chances of coming off heroin for good.

At the hospital, Nicola and Jimmy are united in their relief that Angelica's okay and Nicola seems to be softening to the idea of allowing Jimmy more access.

However, when Brenda lets slip that Rodney has let Jimmy watch Angelica behind her back before, an argument breaks out and Nicola forbids Jimmy from seeing his daughter. After a bottle of wine, Nicola admits to Laurel that she still loves Jimmy.

Meanwhile, Alicia's unsure when Diane suggests that she should leave Jacob with Leyla while she and Andy go to Spain, pointing out that it's not going to be a fun family holiday anyway. Andy agrees it's a good idea, but Alicia's anxious about leaving Leyla alone with Jacob, sure she'll persuade him not to want to move.

Later, Leyla rings the school on the pretence of finding out what work Jacob will be taking with him to Spain, and discovers that Alicia lied about them being aware of his mid-term holiday. However, she's stopped from confronting Alicia when she asks her to look after Jacob while she and Andy go to Spain alone. Leyla's delighted but David's uneasy when she says Jacob's better off with her anyway…

Elsewhere, Lizzie remains sceptical of Holly and Laurel's uneasy when she reminds her about the time Holly got high while babysitting.

In the pub, Jimmy buys Gennie a drink as they have a laugh together. After seeing Nikhil look over, she agrees to go back to Mill Cottage.

At the same time, Rodney's hopeful as he hears Laurel persuade Nicola to give things another shot with Jimmy. Nicola finally agrees to talk to Jimmy about reconciling. Over at Mill, Jimmy pours Gennie another drink and persuades her to stay longer…

Meanwhile, Nikhil reprimands Holly for messing up an order. Laurel suggests that they should break for lunch, but Holly insists on staying behind, determined to rectify her mistake.

In the pub, Laurel can't find her purse and is relieved when Holly hands it to her when they return from lunch. However, Lizzie immediately blames Holly when Laurel mentions that £20 is missing. Laurel is uneasy when Nikhil insists Holly turns out her pockets. Holly protests her innocence but when Nikhil finds £20 on her, he gives Laurel the money and fires Holly before frogmarching her out.

Elsewhere, Andy realises how much he'll miss Sarah, while Nikhil's pleased when Jai makes it clear to Charity that he trusts Nikhil with his money more than he trusts her.

Been watching Emmerdale since it started in the mid 70's in its lunchtime spot - recently, have removed it from the SKY+ series link as imho, the writers have simply lost the plot - just not the same as it was, reckon tey have run out of ideas big time.
