Not a surprise. She has to be the most underused character since Treadwell-Collins took over. She wouldn't have lasted this long had Newman not given Danielle a 2 year contract when she was in charge. She's just the latest casualty unfortunately. I think the bloke has a massively oversized ego - he now has a show consisting exclusively of his own creations (or at least characters he's had some influence in crafting (Cindy Williams)) and those characters he worked with in his first stint on the show.
Edit: Just realised he did actually work with Cindy in his first stint. The Eva Sayer portrayal of 2007, during Ian's stalker storyline.

Danielle Harold is bowing out of EastEnders after four years on the BBC One soap.
The actress has played Lola Pearce on since 2011, but will film her final scenes later this year after being written out of the show, the Daily Star reports.
Harold said: "I've had the most amazing time at EastEnders having been involved in some exciting storylines, including giving birth in a live scene.
"I'll miss everyone here and am looking forward to the future."
Soap boss Dominic Treadwell-Collins added: "We all love Danielle and she and Lola have been a big part of EastEnders over the past four years.
"Danielle is a fantastic actress and I genuinely look forward to seeing her shine in future roles away from the Square."
While the actress is leaving the show, EastEnders bosses will reportedly leave the door open for a potential return in the future.
