Over on Emmerdale, new recruit Kurtis Stacey makes his debut on the soap later this month, taking on the role of Alex Moss, who becomes employed by the Bartons to work on the farm.

A jealous Adam is uncomfortable over the new arrival, especially when he notices how Alex has won his father's instant approval.

Hannah, meanwhile, is bowled over as soon as she meets him - and confident Alex is more than comfortable with the attention…

Emmerdale newcomer Alex Moss will get off on the wrong foot with Adam Barton.

The hunky farmer, played by Kurtis Stacey, gains John Barton's (James Thornton) immediate approval as he works on the Barton farm, but riles up Adam (Adam Thomas) in the process.

"I don't think he'll get on with Adam because he replaces Adam on the farm - Adam sees him arrive and work really hard and is annoyed that he's good," the actor said.

Their rocky relationship is unlikely to improve in the near future, after Alex catches the eye of Adam's younger sister Hannah (Grace Cassidy).

"The girls are impressed and Adam can tell that Hannah likes Alex and he doesn't like it," Kurtis continued.

"I think Andy will be in the middle a bit because I can see him being a bit stuck between them, being mates with us both. Andy is the only person Alex knows in the village at first."

Adam isn't the only one with his doubts about the village's new farmer, who makes his grand entrance on April 11.

Kurtis added: "I think the locals will be a bit suspicious of him at first, especially when they see him with different girls. Hopefully they'll realise he's OK, for now."

    11th April

After an earful from Val and Pollard, Amy arrives in work late, full of apologies to Leyla for sleeping in. When David passes comment on how rough Amy looks, she boasts about spending the night with a sophisticated man. Concerned, David asks questions and Amy has no qualms in hinting that she hooked up with someone. Later, with no shame, Amy goes to Tug Ghyll to ask after her missing necklace, but Debbie's disgusted to realise what Amy is insinuating. Accosting her father, Debbie lets rip but Cain tries to play it cool, despite his clear embarrassment when he realises Amy's age.

When Amy spots Cain locking up she's put out to feel his wrath, hurling abuse his way when he makes it clear he wants nothing more to do with her. David watches on mortified as Cain is quick to dismiss the young teen's affections. Heading to comfort her, Amy clearly enjoys David's attention.

Meanwhile, Chas continues to make life difficult for Alicia at work, instructing her to do the dirty work and reducing her shifts. With money tighter than ever, Alicia's financial future looks bleak so when she finds the keys to her sister's shop, she helps herself to them. Letting herself in, Alicia hesitates before heading in with a large handbag on her shoulder…

Elsewhere, John's stubbornness starts to cause more family friction; Marlon's enthusiasm for the baby overwhelms Rhona and he pressurises her into allowing the baby to stay at his house for a few days a week; and Jimmy offers to pay for Kelly and Elliot to stay at Marlon's.

    12th April

Alicia guiltily makes a call to meet her 'buyer' for the final time. Opening her boot, there's a stash of fags and booze. At the same time, Leyla's still concerned about the missing items and quizzes David, who promises to do a stock check later and claims there has to be an explanation. When the figures don't add up, Leyla insists they call the police but David's hesitant, convinced it's an inside job.

Later, Leyla summons Amy and fires an accusation straight her way, but she vows she's innocent. Alicia arrives in the midst of the commotion but quickly makes her excuses to leave as Leyla continues to lay in to Amy. David notes Alicia's unease and watches her scurry away, suddenly convinced Leyla's accusing the wrong person…

Meanwhile, John is introducing the new farm hand, Alex, to Moira and Holly as Adam arrives home, clearly uncomfortable with the situation. Hannah swoons over the dinner table as Alex tries to make small talk, but Adam is clearly put out by the new worker and his dad's instant approval.

Elsewhere, Jimmy tells Nicola that he'll be playing a part in his son's upbringing; and Val rages at Cain in The Woolpack.

    13th April

Val asks Leyla whether she may have jumped the gun by accusing Amy, but can't hide her doubt either when she later questions Amy. Feeling sorry for Amy, David pays her a visit with the assurance that he believes she's innocent. Amy thanks him with a kiss and David's uneasy, worried that Amy's getting a little too close.

Dragging Amy down to the shop, David asks Leyla to apologise to her, but sensing her reluctance, Amy heads out. However, she's stopped by Alicia, who confesses her crimes to a stunned Leyla. Alicia tries to explain that she planned to put everything back, but Leyla's heard enough and snaps. Demanding Alicia pack her bags, Leyla watches on guiltily as her sister leaves with Jacob.

Meanwhile, Kelly encourages Jimmy to go with his heart, confident in the knowledge that she's won him over. However, Jimmy later decides to pay Nicola a visit and finds that she's suddenly more approachable and sympathetic. Nicola insists they'll get through this together and all Jimmy can do is force a smile of agreement. Later, Kelly's put out to hear that Jimmy hasn't ended his relationship with Nicola and resorts to playing the understanding other woman again.

Elsewhere, Moira is stunned to learn that Declan has offered to pay generous relocation expenses to John; and Paddy insists Rhona should be choosing the baby's name with Marlon.

    14th April 7-00pm

As Kelly arranges another outing with Jimmy, Carl warns him that he's playing with fire. Later, Carl calls Nicola and warns that she needs to up her game fast if she wants a chance of keeping him out of Kelly's clutches. Nicola angrily confronts her nemesis and when she questions why she's trying to steal her husband, Kelly calmly asserts that she's not trying to steal him, she is stealing him.

Later, as Jimmy and Kelly go for a stroll, she regales him with tales of how he proposed to her. Jimmy is tempted when she leans in for a kiss, but quickly pulls away and heads back to work. Later, Kelly shows up at Pear Tree and knowing this is her chance, tells him that he's the only man who's ever made her happy. As she goes to kiss him, he responds.

Meanwhile, Ryan's surprised when he comes downstairs to find Alicia and Jacob have moved in and already eaten them out of house and home. At the same time, David warns Leyla not to go soft on Alicia when she defends her motives for stealing. Later in the pub, Andy is annoyed when Alicia admits that she was stealing from Leyla but refuses to apologise. Andy tells her that it's too soon for her to move in with him anyway and she knows she should do the right thing and say sorry.

Elsewhere, Moira confronts John about hiding Declan's offer from her; Paddy is touched by Aaron's reaction to the news that the baby has Down's Syndrome; Hazel's thrilled when Jackson and Aaron arrange a birthday gathering in the pub and present her with Russell Watson tickets; and Alex proves a hit on the farm.

    8-00pm

Feeling torn, Jimmy pulls away from kissing Kelly. He says that he knows he wouldn't have married someone he didn't love and can't turn his back on Nicola and Angelica. At the same time, Nicola is seething following her encounter with Kelly and resolves to find the cash to get rid of her once and for all. At Tall Trees, Kelly is upset when a fiercely determined Nicola marches in, tells her that she knows it's only money she's after and offers her £2,340 in cash to leave the village. Kelly is amused by Nicola's desperation but ushers her out, agreeing to think about it.

Later, Nicola is thrilled when Jimmy tells her that he wants to be a good husband and give their marriage a shot. She and Jimmy are planning a trip away to reconnect when Kelly arrives at the door and tearfully reveals that Nicola threatened her and tried to pay her off. As Nicola lashes out, Jimmy holds her back while Kelly hands the cash back and leaves, feigning upset. Nicola is devastated as Jimmy tells her that he needs to be with someone he can trust, not someone who is scheming behind his back.

Meanwhile, as Jackson is bored at home, Hazel tries to encourage him to set about arranging something nice for Aaron. At the pub later, Hazel is enjoying her birthday bash and Jackson convinces Hazel and Jerry that he's enjoying himself too, but Aaron notices his façade slip as he struggles to paint on a smile. However, he's encouraged when Jackson invites him to go to a comedy gig with him in town tomorrow night.

Elsewhere, Alex enjoys making an impression on Hannah; David is frustrated when Leyla admits that she's thinking about apologising to Alicia; and Paddy gets very drunk at Hazel's birthday party.

    15th April

Jackson and Aaron head to the comedy gig, but Aaron is forced to call an ambulance when Jackson starts to choke. Hazel arrives at the hospital with Jerry and is concerned to hear that Jackson has a chest infection. Knowing this is the last thing her son needs, Hazel sobs into Aaron's arms.

Meanwhile, Nicola arrives at Pear Tree to talk to Jimmy but makes matters worse when she reveals that Carl was involved in her attempted pay-off. Full of remorse, she assures Jimmy that she was doing what she felt was best for Angelica, but Jimmy reminds her Elliot is also his child.

Later, Jimmy informs Kelly that he's told Nicola he doesn't want to be with her as he can't be around someone who's lying and scheming. When they arrive at the pub together, Jimmy is still angry with Nicola and tells her that she owes Kelly an apology. Everyone is gobsmacked as a broken Nicola bites her tongue and utters an apology to smug Kelly.

Elsewhere, Hannah blushes as Alex flirts with her in front of Adam and Andy. Later, Alex is getting ready for a night out when Hannah pops into the caravan to give him a hot water bottle. As Hannah makes to leave, a shirtless Alex assures her that she doesn't have to, knowing full well the effect he's having on her.

Also today, Nikhil is peeved to find Jai and Charity in the pub after their lunch meeting. As they taunt him, Gennie realises that he's genuinely affected by their teasing.

Chelsea Halfpenny has hinted that future Emmerdale storylines will explore a more spiteful side of her character Amy Wyatt.

Following some wild antics when she first arrived in the village, Amy has been trying to remain on the straight and narrow in recent weeks after being welcomed into the home of Val and Eric Pollard.

However, in an interview with the official Emmerdale website, Halfpenny confessed that Amy's manipulative streak will return to the forefront of the soap in the weeks ahead.

She explained: "Don't get used to the nice side of Amy, or the side that seems nice.

"Remember what she was like at first, and remember how good she is at lying and scheming, because there might be a bit more of that coming up."

Kurtis Stacey has revealed that new Emmerdale farmer Alex Moss comes from a "troubled background".

The actor makes his debut in the ITV1 soap next week as he begins working for John Barton (James Thornton).

"He's a regular lad with a 'work hard/play hard' attitude," Stacey told Soaplife. "He gets into a bit of trouble because he's single and out to enjoy himself."

Discussing Moss's past, he revealed: "He comes from a troubled background, so family is a touchy subject with him and as a result he shuts people out."

Asked if the new arrival will have a secret to be revealed, Stacey teased: "If he has one, it's likely to have something to do with his family."

Stacey previously admitted that Moss's position on the farm will not go down well with Adam Barton (Adam Thomas).

The Bartons meet Alex, Tuesday, April 12 at 7pm.

Emmerdale newcomer Kurtis Stacey has insisted that his character Alex Moss will not be a bad boy on the soap.

The Barton family's new farmhand, who was introduced in last night's episode, has been tipped to break hearts in the village over the next few months as he sets his sights on some of the female residents.

However, speaking to the show's official website, Stacey commented: "He's meant to be a bit of a love rat, but people keep getting the idea that he's a bad guy - and I don't think he is a bad guy. You'll see that later on, that he's not a bad guy.

"He just does what he does because he's single, but if he's in a relationship, then you'll see something completely different."

Asked what else viewers can expect from his character, he continued: "It's not all about the women. It's not just about that, because Alex thinks a lot about himself and he works hard. He could go out all night and he'll still be on the farm in the morning - he's still there working hard, grafting away. He's liked by John Barton because that's all he does - works hard, enjoys life and the women are just a bonus that come along with it.

"The next few weeks at Emmerdale are going to be quite a shock for the village. You've never had anybody like Alex in it before, he's going to take the Barton family by storm and he's going to take a lot of women by storm as well. I think you're going to have to watch out for Alex, because he's a bit of a cheeky one."

Alex landed his job with the Bartons following Adam's surprise decision to quit his job in favour of a new role at Home Farm.
