Britney Spears - Hold It Against Me

Britney Spears has teamed up with Xenomania for her forthcoming album, reports claim.

The producers - behind all 21 of Girls Aloud's singles, 20 of which charted within the UK Top Ten - are said to be contributing to the LP, which is due for release in March 2011.

The Sun reports that Spears has worked with the production team, founded by Brian Higgins and Miranda Cooper, as well as Essex-born singer Jessie J in a bid to create a record inspired by the UK music scene.

The collaboration marks the second time Spears has worked with Xenomania, after they wrote and produced the track 'Graffiti My Soul' for Spears in 2003, which was later used on Girls Aloud's sophomore set What Will The Neighbours Say?

Spears['s] new single 'Hold It Against Me' is due to premiere on January 7.

Britney Spears's new single has premiered online a day earlier than scheduled.

The singer, whose new track is called 'Hold It Against Me', announced last week that the full track would be unveiled across radio stations on Tuesday January 11, after a demo of the song leaked on the internet.

The song has since premiered online in full on music website Sound Cloud.

Lyrics to the song include: "If I said my heart was beating loud/ If we could escape the crowd somehow/ If I said I want your body now/ Would you hold it against me?"

Spears has a history of singles leaking on the internet, after her previous album trailers 'Womanizer' and 'Gimme More' both leaked ahead of their official premiere.

'Hold It Against Me' will be released on iTunes in the US tomorrow, with its UK release date set for February 20.

Britney Spears has thanked fans for the success of her latest single.

The singer, whose current track 'Hold It Against Me' leaked earlier this week, said that she had "the best fans ever" after it topped the download chart in 17 countries 24 hours after its release.

She tweeted: "'Hold It Against Me' is now officially on iTunes!!! Feeling it? -Brit."

The 'Womanizer' star later added: "Seriously, I have the best fans ever. I love you all so much!! Everything I do is for you! xoxo Brit."

Co-producer of the track Dr. Luke also took to the micro-blogging site in response to the track's success, writing: "[holy] f**k !!!! hold it against me is a trending topic...(sic)"

Britney Spears's new single has made a record-breaking debut in the US.

The star's latest track 'Hold It Against Me' - released immediately after its radio premiere last week - has gained the highest amount of radio play for the last seven days in Billboard's 18-year history.

The website reports that the song was played over 4,000 times across the States last week, launching it to number 16 on the chart company's Pop Songs tally.

The debut chart position matches Madonna's 'Frozen', which also landed at number 16 in 1998, while the only track to earn a higher debut was Mariah Carey's 1993 hit 'Dreamlover', which entered at 12.

"Over the last decade, Britney Spears has had her ups and downs, but every time she drops new music it is an event for the format," said KHOP programme director MoJoe Roberts.

"We often tend to wait for audience research to come back strong to power up certain hits. This, however, is one of those rare tracks, like Katy Perry's 'California Gurls' or Pink's 'Raise Your Glass', that I put right into power rotation after one listen.

"Audience reaction to her new single has been nothing short of amazing. This is another pure pop smash from Ms Spears."

'Hold It Against Me' is also on course to top the official Billboard Hot 100 this week - the 18th track to achieve the feat since chart records began in 1958.

Still like the song but the music video, to me, has nothing to do with what she is singing. The video appears to be more about her life etc. and the song is more about meeting a guy?!
