That makes sense. I hope that's the case.

Eastenders has been a lot better than Corrie for a good while now (except for the past month or so) and live week was just the pinnacle of that - and an extraordinary feat by any measure. I hope it wins all the awards going when eligible.

Im sure it has. Corrie has been going through the doldrums as all soaps do in cycles. As I dont watch EE at all now my remark was tongue in cheek

True but Corrie for the majority has been worse than EE

I think Emmerdale is the best by far and it gets no recognition

How did Sarah Lancashire not win best drama actress for Happy Valley

Sorry, but I just can`t see what`s so special about them both. They`re likeable enough lads, but it`s time someone else got an award.
    who was their competition?

I've just read that special episodes can't be submitted for consideration for the BAFTA because they only allow episodes that are representative of the programme as a whole. That means EE probably won't be able to submit the live episode next year, which is a shame.

I still think EE deserved to win for 2014 but if the panel only consider a handful of episodes for each soap then they're not getting a true representation. Corrie hasn't been at its best for a while but it still produces some excellent episodes.

    Contratulations to Corrie anyway.

It's a four-way battle between the soaps for the title of Sexiest Female at the upcoming Inside Soap Awards.

Emmerdale's Natalie Anderson, Coronation Street's Kym Marsh and Hollyoaks' Jennifer Metcalfe will compete against the reigning champion, EastEnders' Jacqueline Jossa.

Anderson left Emmerdale earlier this month, while Jossa recently returned to our screens.

Speaking to the Daily Star Sunday, Inside Soap editor Steven Murphy revealed that he has no plans to axe the 'Sexiest' categories, unlike the British Soap Awards.

"Sexiest Female is always one of the most hotly-contested awards and this year it seems to be hotter than ever," outlined Murphy. "Whoever picks it up on the night should feel very proud - this is one tough competition!"

The Inside Soap Awards take place on October 5 in London. New categories this year include Best Shock Twist, Best Affair and Best Show-Stopper.
