carl tried and successfully won back chas after so long they go and ruin everything again by giving him a storyline where he cheats on her or wants to cheat on her? how stupid

I'm struggling to see how the police can charge Ryan or am I missing something? Investigating him sure, but actually charging him would require actual evidence of some kind.

I'd have thought with the police looking into Nathan and Natasha, their actions would be so glaringly obvious I would have thought they would be heaqvilly onto them.

Nathan planted the gun in Ryan's house or the garage I think

He also got Ryan's jacket last week and tried to get gun shot residue on it, and when he was putting the jacket back he took Ryan's jewelry. No doubt he will plant this somewhere near where they find the body. That's probably what deflects the attention from Nathan to Ryan.
